Re: 2019-11-15: Cornell 4 Clarkson 2 - 4 years ago
Trotsky Cam's great hustle on both goals 1 and 3. And his patience on goal 3. He realized he had enough time to pull the puck back to give himself a reasonable angle. He easily could have just tried to swat it in from a much tougher angle and missed.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
ugarte notre dame, duluth and umass all lost tonight. if we take care of business tomorrow i assume we move up to 3. And Denver tied, for NCAA purposes. (They actually lost in the second OT.)by andyw2100 - Hockey

Re: MSG: Red Hot Hockey - 4 years ago
scoop85 Jim Hyla I haven't gone to this game in years. From those who've gone, what's the chance I can bring in newspapers +/or Snickers? I don’t think newspapers would be a problem, but you should check the MSG website to see what restrictions they may have about bringing in outside food. I'm almost certain that outside food is officially prohibited. That being said I know that there have beby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Brown - 4 years ago
marty upprdeck #1 in PWR now on uscho.. Because Denver tied 2019 national champ Duluth. And a team that some say Sucks is number 2. Not that it matters much but we were actually first in pairwise on both sites before the Denver game was finished. (We held on to first because they tied. )by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 andyw2100 Swampy Women rank #1 in the pairwise; men are #11. Men are 2 in pairwise on the CHN site: Seems like at least one of the sites must be doing something wrong. Not enough data for it to be meaningful. Sure. But I thought pairwise was supposed to be completely objective math. Doesn't the fact that the two sites have different pairwise rankings mean that one isby andyw2100 - Hockey

Re: Game 1 Highlights - 4 years ago
marty Highlights from season opening game vs Michigan State Just watched the highlights (thanks, Marty) and noticed something I had not noticed while watching the game. After the Cornell icing with about 30 seconds remaining, Saliba (MSU Captain) can be seen signalling for a timeout. A little later the MSU coach has a mini-tantrum on the bench, while first looking at Saliba, and then turningby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: @ MSU - 4 years ago
ugarte The last few times down the ice they kept setting Malinsky up to bomb it and he got in deeper that time and picked the far post. Malinsky's shot beat the goalie on the near post and then ricocheted around to the other side of the net.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: @ MSU - 4 years ago
Trotsky How is BTN? I thought it was generally pretty good. Some issues at first with sound. Also they cut away at stoppages a little quicker than I would have liked at times. Certainly worth $5 a game. On a related note, the MSU announcers could not have been saying nicer things about the Cornell team. They clearly had a great deal of respect for Cornell. If only they could have stopped swiby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: @ MSU - 4 years ago
Trotsky Cornell up 3-2, late 2nd. Goals by Malone, Kaldis, Andreev. Points from 9 different players. Andreev's goal was a real sniper's goal, beating the goalie short side, off the post.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: @ MSU - 4 years ago
Jim Hyla And the BTN+ page for streaming. Just a couple of quick heads-ups for anyone purchasing the streaming to watch the games this weekend: --If you want to save a few bucks and aren't going to watch any games other than the Cornell games you can select a one-school only monthly pass, which costs $9.95. I was expecting to have to pay more than $5 per game to watch these two games. -by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Frozen Four 2019 - 5 years ago
upprdeck they do lose one guy though UMass' Bobby Trivigno will be suspended for the national championship game for a hit to the head in the semis. It was uncalled during the game. Denver coach David Carle questioned it, but the officials asked if he wanted to use his challenge to have them check, and he said no. Terrible decision by Denver's coach! abmarks scoop85 ugarte scoop85 More of this pleaseMy son was 9 months old and I woke him up yelling when Barlow scored that goal and I reminded my wife of it when I watched that clip and let me tell you she is not even a little less mad about it. Swampy Given andyw2100’s experience, I’m too afraid of taking responsibility for a game thread. So I’ll just ask a question. Yes, I said I'd take a shot, and had a little streak going, but couldn't come through when it mattered most. So...who's next?by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Finals: Clarkson vs. Cornell - 5 years ago
BearLover They lost a second-line forward minutes into the game and then conceded a goal on the horseshit penalty call... What did that look like on the broadcast / replay? My sense watching it live was that neither player really saw the other.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2019 - 5 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 dbilmes I don't know about everyone else, but if winning the ECACs gets us sent to Fargo, while losing tonight gets us closer to home, I'd rather have the ECAC title even if it means most of us won't get to watch the NCAA games next weekend in person. After all, we haven't wont the ECACS since 2010. It's time to end the drought! I agree with that sentiment. Let's win in Placidby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2019 - 5 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 marty Jeff Hopkins '82 upprdeck multiple shots to get to 7 seed. PSU losing would help since it keeps them out of allentown too. Basically... If we win and Northeastern and Denver both lose (or Denver ties), we get to 7. If either one of those two win, we get 8. If they both win, we get 9. We lose, and we're 11 in most cases, except if Bowling Green beats Mankato. Thby andyw2100 - Hockey

Re: List of all current Band Songs? - 5 years ago
upprdeck My kids school said no kids allowed to sit near the band and they will be checking credentials. in an arena likely to be 95% empty This reminds me of when Minnesota (I think) wouldn't allow our cowbell in the arena. Somehow Jim H. got involved, but if memory serves even with Jim's diplomacy we wound up cowbell-less.by andyw2100 - Hockey
