This discussion occurs every year. Blah, blah, blah. Did the first poster ever mention where he got his, obviously firestarting, information?by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Scheduling on USCHO - 19 years ago
From : "We're trying to help emerging leagues," said Berenson. "I think all of us have a responsibility to help college hockey. I'm of the old school where I just want to play the best teams and the best schools. But it's important to try to build up the emerging conferences. That's why it's been important to Atlantic Hockey that ECAC teams will play them. Do you think that Harby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Ummm... one would think that Nieuwendyk has some time on his hands, eh? Does anyone else remember the emergence of one Brad Chartrand the last time that Joe missed part of a season? Wait, was it mentioned somewhere else that Nieuwendyk was in town Homecoming weekend? I'm sure he was in Ithaca for the football. Perhaps not surprisingly, like Rich I prefer to look at this as a big pond/little pond issue. The current ECAC is a little pond with more minnows than big or mid-size fish. (The big fish are we, Hah-vahd, and Clarkson; the mid-size fish are RPI and the Larries; and the rest are minnows. I see only Colgate as a growing fish with staying power in this scheme.) Boardman Hall for Olin Library: great tragedy and the first of many. Of course, "historically-sensitive renovation" wasn't in the cards at that time. (Just be glad some bright Robert Moses-type didn't decided to drive a highway through campus in the 50s. Nobody would've lifted a finger, most likely.) Just think of the architectural monstrosities that have been visited on the campusby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Re: DIY what if script - 20 years ago
Responding to Mike "A-19": We would be 11th in the KRACH, which, though much better at ascertaining the actual strengths of teams, isn't what the NCAA uses to seed the tournament. Our PWR would be tied for 7th with Ohio State, to whom we would have just barely lost the comparison, so our actual seeding would be 8th.by Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: DIY what if script - 20 years ago
Something to file under the "Scersk is a depressive" category: If we had beaten Ohio State at Lynah, we're in the tourney tied in the pairwise at 12 with Michigan State. If we had beaten Western Michigan twice instead of losing and tieing, we'd be in at 11 tied with Michigan. If we had gone 5-2 out of conference instead of 2-2-3, we'd have been in at 13.
