Re: Bracket Predictions - 15 years ago
As an addendum to my earlier post, if you look at the rankings with KRACH in mind (a far better method for determining the relative strengths of teams), a few things come to mind (using my seeding): (1) BU will actually receive something of a tough draw; however, I doubt they will be unable to handle it. (2) All of the possible games between #1 and the best of the #2/#3 seeds work out inby Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: Bracket Predictions - 15 years ago
abmarks I got this bracket exactly also. Got to disagree with Scersk though. If we manage to beat Duluth, Notre Dame is going to tear us a new one. Well, I didn't say that we will be able to slow down Notre Dame, I said that we can. Honestly, whether or not you can play a clogging game depends a lot on the refs. Re: Bracket Predictions - 15 years ago
I see how you're doing it, a very one-to-one flipping arrangement, but I can't see why the committee would leave the "6" playing a higher seed than it should, especially when it's so easy to fix.by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Re: ECAC Final: Cornell 0 Yale 3 (2nd int.) - 15 years ago
All I can say is that I'm very glad Richards is a senior. The only practical difference between this year's Yale team and next year's Yale team (barring departures) will be in goal.by Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Final: Cornell 0 Yale 3 (2nd int.) - 15 years ago
Honestly, the one thing that I can see bringing us back in this game is a 5-minute major. With how frankly undisciplined Yale is regarding penalties, it's not out of the realm of possibility. And, yes, I think this is one of the hardest-fought, bare-knuckle games I've seen in a long time; it's a shame we're, at this point, on the short end of it.by Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: Cornell going west - 15 years ago
OatIf Cornell wins tonight, we are definitely going west right? Yale is locked into Bridgeport as host. Can anyone find a Cornell-winning scenario where we might get to stay out here on the east coast? It's basically as Ken70 suggested above. If Cornell ends up a #2 seed, they will not go to Bridgeport, and so the ranking must match them with UNH or suggest that the committee adjust the braby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Jim HylaScersk '97Jim HylaScersk '97RichH Also, UMD winning over UMTC. Is that good for Cornell? I don't even know anymore. Over in the YATC thread, I came up with a scenario under which we end up as a #1 seed. It seems that an upset special in the WCHA is good for us. Re: Cornell-RPI Postgame (Game 1) 3/13/09 - 15 years ago
RichH Bad news: we lost to a sub-.300 winning % team tonight. Good news: we get to play a sub-.300 winning % team tomorrow. I'd rather be in this position vs. RPI than vs. Dartmouth or Quinnipiac, for example. It was a classic "steal" win by RPI. Hats off. See you Saturday. KRACH says we should win about 80% of our games vs. RPI. 4-1 on the season will be fine. And tomorrby Scersk '97 - Hockey

KeithKnyc94TrotskyUm. Brown 2 Yale 0. I was all set to say that the score of 1-0 would never hold up. . . as much as it would be nice to play Brown next Friday (assuming we take care of business ourselves) it would be bad for the league. For the same reason I'd rather see Ya;e come back and sweep than win the series 2-1. Bah. Screw the league. Go Bruno!!!by Scersk '97 - Hockey

DeltaOne81Wow. I already thought that Ann Coulter is one of the lowest, poor-excuses-for-a-human-being, more like cow dung than actual intelligent life, things on the planet... but she still managed to shock me by dropping even lower. Re: RPI comes to Lynah - 15 years ago
Rich S If I recall correctly, Clarkson and cornell played to a 0-0 tie this year in one of the two games. I'd say it's inaccurate to say that the red "own Clarkson." I'll probably catch one of the QF games next weekend at Princeton. That's a close by fix for some college hockey for me after a poor end to a disappointing end to Tech's poor season. A disappointing season indeed. Iby Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: RPI comes to Lynah - 15 years ago
There are no easy games. Blah, blah, blah... But I think we have to be very pleased with this result. Though I think we would've handled, say, Union easily, Quinnipiac (Wong-ful), Clarkson, and Colgate could have posed problems. To my eyes and ears, we seemed very much in control of both games with RPI. That being said, go Union or Quinnipiac. However much I might like to see four ECACby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Give My RegardsdaredevilcuDoes anyone feel a sting of familiarity? Cornell in 2nd, Clarkson @ Union. Clarkson has the chance to make history. Come on, Knights, go for it -- become the first team to lose a playoff series to Union! Hey, count me as one who would much rather we play a Wong-less Quinnipiac or typically-toothless Union than a healthy Clarkson. PS I just wanted to type "by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Flyers1037Yes, I am aware. But I don't think the Clarkson band knows any better. They might have also been inebriated, but that is just a personal observation. And god forbid today's college students have a drink or break the rules in any way.
