CU 86-53 Final...on to the dance!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Bracket Projections - 16 years ago
Ahh...sorry...was thinking tonight was the last game of the season for some reason. (See, told you I wasn't in to hoops...I'm much more concerned about clinching a bye in hockey.)by JordanCS - Other Sports
Re: Bracket Projections - 16 years ago
Please educate an idiot. Why haven't we clinched the Ivy title yet? I just started hearing about the basketball team's success this week (living in Ohio, not a basketball fan and 7 years removed from graduation, I'm not exactly up to date on CU hoops). According to ESPN we are 11-0 in conference, and Brown is 8-3. Why, then, do we need to win tonight or have Brown lose to clinch the Ivy titleby JordanCS - Other Sports
Re: TSN Ranks Riley Nash #33 for the upcoming draft - 16 years ago
Well, off to the draft....heading downtown to see what the action is like. I'll report if anything interesting goes down on the floor..by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: OT: Penguins Moving - 17 years ago
As a Penguins fan, I just keep hoping they'll get a deal done in Pittsburgh. While I root for the Blue Jackets on the side, living here in Columbus, my heart is with the Pens, and it would SUCK if they moved to KC. I couldn't bring myself to cheer for the KC Pens. Of course, then I'd devote to the CBJ entirely, though I must say the long term prospects are about 50 times better for the Penguinby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: ECAC playoffs - Cornell 4th, first round bye - 17 years ago
billhoward YEAR OUTCOME IN ECACs 1996 1st (beat Harvard) 1997 2nd (lose to Clarkson. RichS rejoices.) Huh? Unless my memory is failing (and judging by the ECAC title list on the side, it's not...) We beat Clarkson in '97 for the ECAC title.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: USCHO Pre-Season Poll 9/25/06 - 17 years ago
I still think it's rediculous to rank 20 teams in Div-I NCAA hockey. That's almost a third of the entire division. Stupid. Should be top 10, or go back to 15, but 10 would be my bet. As mentioned, preseason polls are quite stupid too. At least the hockey poll doesn't decide the national champion.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros -- September 2006 - 17 years ago
LeNeveu got hammered tonight, playing half the game, and allowing 3 goals on 9 shots. Ouch. On the positive side, I got to see my first live hockey game in a year and a half tonight, after living in Germany for 3.5 years (seeing one game in the DEL while over there). I swung by Nationwide Arena to see the BlueJackets play the Blackhawks. Unfortunately the CBJ lost, but it was great to smellby JordanCS - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - April 2006 - 18 years ago
D'oh! As a Pens fan, that would stink. I'd love to be able to cheer for a recent CU alum on my team. All I have now is a SUCKS alum.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Noah Welch is a big fat idiot - 18 years ago
As much as I hated Welch while I was at CU, I have to cheer for him now. As a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan in all forms, it's unfortunate, but necessary. GO WELCH (but cut out the own goals)by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Colorado College 2 (3rd period) - 18 years ago
Great comeback for CU...hopefully we'll play the way we did the final 2 periods today in all 3 periods tomorrow.by JordanCS - Hockey
USA - Slovakia Olympics - 18 years ago
Holy hell is this a good game. 1-1 after 2 periods. This is honestly one of the best games I've ever watched. Amazing end to end action, and both teams' defense and goaltending is just stepping up to the plate. Awesome game. Can't wait for the 3rd period! (I'm assuming I'm watching this live...given that I'm watching in Germany on US TV, it's hard to tell....I'm in the same time zone as Turby JordanCS - Other Sports
Re: Emily Hughes - 18 years ago
I very clearly remember the Emily's Chaplain routine. I will definitely be rooting her on in the Olympics. She was very good, even then.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: XX Olympic Games - Hockey TV Schedule - 18 years ago
What a show by both the US Women and the Swiss goalie. She got lit up, but without the goaltender's amazing play, the score would have been 15-0. An utterly dominating performance by the US women. Wow, do they have some talented hockey players! I was truly impressed.by JordanCS - Other Sports
Re: Olympic bound Hughes? - 18 years ago
I remember when Emily came to skate for the Lynah Faithful at a game a few years ago. She was quite good, even then. I think she was 10 or 11 at the time, and she performed with a cane and top hat if I remember correctly. I actually kind of hope Kwan doesn't recover fully so Emily gets the shot, though I feel horrible for saying that.by JordanCS - Other Sports
Re: Alumni in the Pros -- Jan 2006 - 18 years ago
I've got to say, it's great to see Vesce have good success at the next level. He was one guy I thought definitely had the skills to do well in the pro game, but I wasn't sure if his size would put him at a disadvantage. If you're an AHL all-star, I think you're capable of playing in the NHL, and hopefully Vesce will get that shot. I always loved watching him play.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros -- Dec 2005 - 18 years ago
Doug is apparently impressing the coaches. I just notice that his ice time keeps going up. He didn't get any shots or hits in last night's game, but he was 3rd in ice time, which looks to me like he's playing in the 2nd defensive pairing. He also had 6 minutes of PK time, so they're looking to him as one of the primary penalty killers. Lookin' good!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Polls 12/5/05 - 18 years ago
Perhaps we're not a top-10 team right now, but it seems awfully screwy to drop spots after a 4-point weekend, so I can't say that USA Today got it right.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Minnesota Drinking Scandal - 18 years ago
Yeah, this has to be one of the lamest examples of 'investigative' reporting I've ever seen. Didn't they have anything better to do? Next report: "College students having pre-marital sex....film at 11!" (though, I have to say, the ratings would surge on that one!)by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Only 1 other visiting coach on the schedule is bald, wanna guess which one? - 18 years ago
As a proud baldie.... WE ROCK! (truth is, I'm just glad I have a round head, and not some odd bumpy vein covered monstrosity).by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - Nov '05 - 18 years ago
For Halloween news, Lenny saved 24, allowing 3 in a 3-2 loss to Anaheim last night. While Lenny's GAA is above Marty Brodeur's right now, his SV% is in the toilet, .872. Apparently Phoenix likes him enough to keep him around this long, which is pretty good. Hopefully he'll put it together as the season goes on.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: New Chant - 18 years ago
I think a combination of the two best suggestions. Instead of a straight "kill kill kill kill kill kill," just a "kill Kill KILL" like Jeff suggests, with the meter of LGR.....then, on a clear, I like "Go Fetch" "Good Boy." It's pretty insulting, and very clean at the same time. Oh, and FWIW, this Army Captain cheers RED at CU games.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Michigan State cheers - 18 years ago
A couple comments: 1) DON'T do the phone numbers. It's not funny, and it's completely classless. 2) While a well-timed Florence Nightengale reference may work, please don't think it's original. I'm sure he's heard every variation there is over the course of his life. 3) I like playing "Hail to the Victors" when MSU comes out....should irritate the crap out of them. 4) LGR!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: [OT] NHL Scoring Out of Control! - 18 years ago
I have to say, I like it. I watched the Pens/Flyers game last night, and while my beloved Penguins are still without a win, it sure was a fun game to watch. The best part about it? Featured 11 goals (including a faceoff dump in goal while the Flyers tender was watching a replay...reminded me of the time we in sections A and B scored on Boucher), but the play of the game was an absolutely Uby JordanCS - Hockey
