Re: Cornell 3 Clarkson 1: Just Win, Baby - 11 years ago
Trotsky RichHYes, exactly (Michigan will never come to Lynah, and good luck getting 800 tickets). Any opponent arguing that it's an "NCAA Rule" is absolutely wrong. The NCAA only limits bands to 25 for NCAA Tournament games. If a University limits the opposing band, they are doing so for their own jerky reasons, and not due to any NCAA policy. They should say so instead of hiding behinby Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey
Re: Cornell hockey at MSG every year - 11 years ago
I do not think Michigan State travels well as much as I would love to watch a Cornell-Sparty game, and unlike programs like Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State MSU does not have as many national fans who are unaffiliated with the University which would be a major detriment to selling out The Garden. From what I know, I may be wrong, Sparty does not refuse to travel East, so I think Michigan Statby Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey
Re: To The Band - 11 years ago
marty And it goes without saying that we want to hear the Notre Dame and MSU fight songs on Saturday. The Michigan State fight song had great effect last time, but I think Ohio State's fight song would have more impact if the pep band were to add another, especially, if Ohio State beats Michigan in football earlier Saturday.by Aaron M. Re: Michigan-Cornell@MSG - 11 years ago
RM 08 Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but from an MSG Network press release: "Cornell, which is expected to wear camouflage jerseys during the second period of Saturday’s game in support of The Wounded Warrior Project..." Should be pretty interesting. Red camo or regular camo? Evidently, the camouflage will be white-based.by Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey

RatushnyFan I think they lost their top goalie recruit to the juniors this year This happened twice in recent years, but not this year. Jared Rutledge was their main recruit that they touted as their likely starter, but Steve Racine has delivered both better results and better numbers. A lot of Michigan fans and coaching staff saw the writing on the wall regarding Rutledge's overrating when Michiby Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey

Re: ECAC back to Lake Placid 2014 - 11 years ago
Trotsky There's going to be a huge amount of money pumped into AC by March. If it were a December event I'd worry; by then everything will be fine. This is a Good Thing, because we've never won it at Boardwalk. If I recall correctly, the record is that Cornell has won in every host city, not every venue, from what you've said before because Cornell did not win in one Boston venue, so as longby Aaron M. CowbellGuy Robb CowbellGuy If you're wondering who they're talking about it's Shayne Gostisbehere. Yeah, him. Had no freaking clue how to spell it... Thanks to the ELynah Twitter feed I know how to spell all sorts of odd names. Well, last names anyway. I had to look up if it was Shayne or Shane. It even taught me how to spell "MacCarron."by Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey
Re: Nolan DeJong Decommits, Headed to Michigan - 11 years ago
scoop85 I just saw on Heisenberg that (now former) Cornell recruit Nolan DeJong is now committed to Michigan. Big Red Puckhead confirms that he has decommitted. Too bad, but I'm sure the coaching staff will fill that slot with a quality player. Yeah, I posted about that earlier in the New Recruit thread. It is a shame to lose such a quality recruit.by Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey
Re: New recruit - 11 years ago
I find this disapointing. Karma perhaps, after getting Mike McCarron from Sparty. Cornell has lost commit Nolan De Jong as he has decommitted from the Big Red and committed to the Michigan Wolverines.— WAFT Blog (@CornellWAFT) October 23, 2012by Aaron M. Griffin - Hockey

css228 Aaron M. Griffin css228 I would almost guarantee you, that no matter what Union does, they take a loss on producing and selling their jeresys. I doubt many people on here are as anti-Union fans as I am, but owning real jerseys is one thing to their credit. css228 I'm almost thinking the next one should have the speech from the old versus commercial. Because that really fits an Ivy League school on the national stage. Addimitedly we are the dream-crushing, soul-devouring juggernaut of the ECAC, but I think this really fits us on the national stage. Though perhaps we can save it for a potential Frozen Four berth. Jim Hyla Might as well get to the new season. As in the past, if you hear of something, let me know and I'll add it. Chris '03 ursusminor Just curious. I was checking out the twitter account of RPI coach Seth Appert which linked to that of Julie Robenhymer. Who is in Cornell's net in her tweet from yesterday? adamw I believe you, But there's a discrepancy, because I've talked to coaches this week that have been with players at practice, and there have been many other public statements from coaches about it. I'm sure they're not breaking rules. I believe they're allowed contact with them for a limited amount of time per day, and then the oct. 6 date would be another level of contact that's allowed.
