Re: Where are our Alumni Playing Now - 6 years ago
Jim Hyla Trigger I’ve got two more additions: Joe Deven is playing with the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) John McCarron is playing with the Florida Everblades (ECHL) Deven is actually the Stingrays captain. Let’s Go Red! Thanks, done It's Devin, actually.by ACM - Hockey

Jim Hyla Scersk '97 Swampy Toothpaste 2, Sucks 1 Tomorrow will be something. Donato and his line were -2. Colgate had 5 penalties to Harvard's 3; it was effectively four in a row until they started to even it up at the end. Perhaps we should rough 'em up a bit… A few things: How can Donato be -2 when he scored a goal in a 2-1 game? Power play goals aren't included in calculating pby ACM - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 TimV How about going to all red ice? Same principle as Boise State's blue Field Turf football field. Also lots of logos on the jerseys like European hockey, since we clearly need the money. Seems to work for NASCAR too. I think you'd need a white or yellow puck to make that work. Ugh. Also a rule change. Section 1, rule 1.2 of the NCAA Ice Hockey Rules: "Except forby ACM - Hockey

It is not a star-studded group, but Mike sounds like he is continuing to transition to a faster, more agile team. Re: 2017 TBRW Awards - 7 years ago
Perhaps this, from a 2003 post, will illuminate the original intent of the Gage Award: 4. Terry Gage Award, Determination in a Supporting Role This award generally goes to an athlete whose contributions do not show up in the box score. It oftens goes to an unexpected player who comes out of the pack to really contribute a particular skill as a role player.by ACM - Hockey
Re: 2017 TBRW Awards - 7 years ago
Fiegl played a supporting role, yes, but what did he actually contribute? I'd pick Matt Nuttle, Brendan Smith, Alex Rauter, even Beau Starrett or Holden Anderson before Fiegl. Vanderlaan gives you the same scrappiness and effort as Freschi, with much better results.by ACM - Hockey
Re: attendance - 7 years ago
RichH andyw2100 scoop85 I'm sure this has been answered before, but why did they switch the ends of the ice where we shoot twice? It would seem logical that the team should shoot twice at the end where the most fans are concentrated rather than at the scoreboard end. I believe the official reason for switching ends was given as being so that the players could be facing the scoreboard for twoby ACM - Hockey

Re: St. Lawrence 2 vs. Cornell 3 1/21/17 - 7 years ago
St. Lawrence appeared to have stricken first just 1:41 into the game, but a goalie interference call erased the goal and kept the game scoreless. Not sure what dialect of English this sentence is written in, but the referee told me the goal was disallowed because it was directed in with a "distinct kicking motion", and that's what I announced.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd @ Cornell 01/27/17 - 7 years ago
marty Jim Hyla Johnny 5 As I've mentioned before, I think that a large part of the non-attendance by students issue is millennial. There are so many digital ways to capture their attention, a 2 1/2 hour, live action hockey game just can't compete. Just look at the latest NBA discussions about shortening events because kids' attention spans are so limited. Yes, I've marveled of late about the nby ACM - Hockey

Re: Florida College Classic - tournament future - 7 years ago
Trotsky ursusminor Trotsky, Didn't Cornell host a tourney many years ago? A problem that RPI had in recent years was getting quality opponents to attend who wouldn't treat this as a two-game series at RPI demanding two games in their barn in return. From RPI's point of view having two games in Troy and having to play a total of six away games was a no-go, so we ended up having poorer and poby ACM - Hockey

Chris '03 RichH Stewart in net vs. CC. I like it. If the gap between the two isn't that large, let's get them both some game experience. Makes sense with three games in four nights and a decent flight in between. Not sure which game is "more important" from a pwr perspective but getting Gilliam on routine for the home stretch is good. Trotsky I don't typically complain about ILDN ("you're sitting in a chair in the sky!" ) but tonight's audio is horrendous. billhoward BeeeejAnybody remember how old Dick Bertrand was when he was tri-captain for the 1969-70 undefeated team? Pretty sure he was 28. Goose, gander, pot, kettle, whatever. Dick Bertrand '70 was 29 by the time he was named coach that spring. He had to sit out the NCAAs because at that time the NCAA didn't allow older international players to compete (in the NCAAs) past a certain age. (Even-oby ACM - Hockey

Trotsky KeithK If you can't find box score here on eLynah you can check . It has box scores going back at least a decade. TBRW has boxes for longer but they don't include attendance.Which reminds me. Re: Recorded Music at Lynah During Merrimack Games - 8 years ago
andyw2100 What the heck was the deal with the recorded music played during stoppages and the intermissions tonight at Lynah? Who would have made the decision to go that route, and can we do something to make sure it never happens again?
