Re: Game thread - 2 years ago
ursusminor In regard to RPI not changing goalies, I am surprised as much, if not more so, than the Cornell posters here. The same thought was posted by many on the game thread on USCHO. RPI has three goalies on their roster, Linden Marshall and Brett Wilson who travelled to Ithaca and Jack Watson who did not. Because of the ECAC's travel squad limit, it's typical to take two goalies on road tby ACM - Hockey

Mike Teeter - 3 years ago
Mike Schafer sent this notice out earlier today: Hello Everyone: It is with a heavy heart that I pass along the news of the passing of Mike Teeter last night. I will be be sending the obituary and press release when it been released to the general public. Simply said, he was a great man who was a friend to so many alumni in the hockey program, lacrosse program and in the Ithaca community.by ACM - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 billhoward Don't celebrate until you get a thick aid-package envelope. Given the mature years of many here on the forum, "ED" gives one pause. Trotsky I suspect there are some Eastern European sports we would not want to watch. Bear-baiting and baby cage wrestling come to mind. My people have many fine attributes but we are not aesthetically subtle. You are not big fan of buzkashi? Like hockey, only with goat, not puck.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Vote Barron for Hobey - 4 years ago
abmarks Interesting tidbit in that article:. "One area that Barron, a center, needs to work on is faceoffs. This season, he won only 103 of 284 draws, a mediocre 36% success ratio. In fact, in 30 games he never won more draws than he lost." Very interesting, considering: 1. We only played 29 games this season. 2. According to the stats handed out at the Clarkson game, Barroby ACM - Hockey

RichH BMac And for the third time ever, we end the season on a win. (I thought we needed a new thread?) My freshmen year, 1993, we missed the ECAC playoffs and beat Dartmouth at home for our last game. And then there must have been some years where an ECAC consolation game win was our last game. 1959-60. Cornell went 2-19-0. Won its first game of the year against Pennsylvania, lost 1by ACM - Hockey
Re: Zamboni Gig in Toronto has Perks - 4 years ago
Trotsky I have always thought the rule was deterministic: if you're the goalie of record when the final go ahead goal is scored then you're the weiner. I wasn't arguing he didn't "deserve" it but that there is no "deserve," only a rule. From the most recent NCAA Ice Hockey Statisticians Manual (2013-14): "In a non-tie game, the game-winning goal (GWG) is the goalby ACM - Hockey

Weder I'm surprised we've never had a player from Vermont Depends on your definition of "player from" ... Geoff Raynak, from Franklin, VT, was a backup goalie on the 92-93 team. Never played, but was definitely on the roster.by ACM - Hockey

scoop85 adamw Trotsky There were two tiers of talent in Las Vegas: 1. Jack Dugan and Morgan Barron 2. Other I didn't see PU being superior in talent. They are - but that's fine. Not the '79 game at Lynah. Providence's goalie in that game was Bill Milner, who wore #29. And not the 1980 semifinal at Boston Garden. Providence's goalie there was Scott Fiske, who wore #31. The goalie in this picture looks like Mario Proulx, who wore #30, so this is most likely the ECAC final from the 1980-81 season.
