Swampy Jim Hyla Beeeej Give My Regards Wins: 78 -- Ken Dryden (1966-69) Iles: 44 (OK, this one's not happening, but a very good season could move him into second place, currently 65 by Ben Scrivens and David McKee) I assume you meant that it was highly unlikely to happen, but in case you didn't, going by my math it's certainly possible. 27 regular season games remaining, and the potential fby ACM - Hockey

Trotsky ACMBox scores that don't include individual penalty information are useless.Yes, who can forget the PIM totals that determined the outcomes of our national championship games? Adequate for your purposes, perhaps. Not mine.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Women 2013-14 - 10 years ago
Trotsky Jim HylaI wouldn't, and I didn't, claim that the usual box score isn't useful. The difference is that the women's page has beauty and ease of reading. The men's page is strictly utilitarian, the info is there but it doesn't capture your interest to stay and look, like the women's does. The new format looks more like a page that Jobs would design, as opposed to the Gates men's site. And yoby ACM - Hockey
Re: UNO - 10 years ago
marty Jim Hyla Johnny 5 Will DeSwardt be eligible to play? Could his behavior in the York game be a harbinger of last season? All he got was Game Misconduct, not DQ, so yes to #1 and who knows to #2. But all teams are going to get Contact to Head penalties, so I'm not worried. Would an exhibition DQ result in sitting out the next game? Yes.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Article on Top 10 Lynah Faithful Traditions - 10 years ago
marty BearLover ScrewBUHarvardtoo I have another article coming up about the history of the Lynah Faithful (I'll post it here when it's up) and I do mention camping out for tickets, and how back then the true fans would line up outside Lynah hours before games. I also make a plea to student to actually show up early to games (can't tell you how much it pisses me off when the student section is noby ACM - Hockey

Re: Article on Top 10 Lynah Faithful Traditions - 10 years ago
Trotsky BearLoverThe salute should be #1I had no idea we stole the salute. The first time I saw it was at Lynah and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Schafer brought the salute with him when he came back from Western Michigan. It didn't originate at Cornell. To say that "Cornell has been given credit for popularizing this tradition" is really an overstatement.by ACM - Hockey

Re: Captain McCarron? - 11 years ago
George64 George64 Josh '99 The History page on cornellbigred.com lists captains under the season-by-season records, and I got far enough back that I wasn't sure anymore whether a given player was a goalie without finding one, but it also doesn't list assistant captains, which I would guess is more common for a goalie, on account of the approaching refs stuff that you mentioned. Re: Pre-weekend - 11 years ago
marty BearLover At the very least, the team should have the option of taking the penalty shot or just taking a regular power play. There are times when it's preferable to have the latter (up by a goal with under two minutes). I like the idea of the option for a shot or two minute penalty. It puts pressure on the coach - which could lead to some interesting and explosive possibilities. Theyby ACM - Hockey

jkahn Box score from Saturday shows Cornell with 45 minutes of penalties at 20:00 mark of the third: McCarron 5+10 (obscene language, DQ) ... Looks like we may be without McCarron next game and whoever abused the officials could get a game suspension. ... It's McCarron's second DQ, so he's gone for the next TWO games.by ACM - Hockey

Larry72 And Mark McCutcheon played up in the Rochester area after Brian took over the Rochester Redwings after leaving Ithaca. Brian coached the Americans, the hockey team, not the Red Wings, the baseball team. ugarte French Rage Ahh, so that's what we're supposed to do with a 5 minute PP in an important playoff game. Dustin should come talk to the team when he's visiting family. billhoward When Cornell played at Colgate Saturday with 950 heavy-hitter Cornell alumni gathered at a conference in D.C., Cornell U (alumni affairs) trusted the Raider feed enough to put it on a 24-foot screen. I saw only one freeze during the game, quickly resolved, and the only glitch was uneven volume levels on account of the Colgate announcer going wild and his voice raising +30 dB in the tby ACM - Hockey
