I've been to every one of these great nights, and a bunch of us go to Keen's on 36th just off 6th. Great steak, prime rib and mutton chops, and not part of a chain. You may be able to eat at the bar without a res. If not, koreatown, as noted, is a great choice.
Still remember pointing out Ned Harkness to my daughter. Like finding a piece of the cross, IMHO.

also love keen's the bar menu is great, and inexpensive (relative to the general ny steakhouse experience). fried chicken cobb, filet steak tips, and prime rib (iirc) hash all great.

Do what you gotta do. In 2006, I took the bus back and forth from Ithaca to go to Mets playoff games. The one that I bailed on because of schoolwork and hassle was game 7 of the NLCS, and we know how that went.

But no, for real though this is probably (definitely) my longest solo trip that isn't for family/school. AND it's for hockey. Which is extra fun. Which is also weird bc I'm used to taking transatlantic flights alone like it's nothing - hell, I studied in Switzerland solo as a newly-18-year-old - and THIS is what's getting my anxiety up. I think I made it to two playoff games and bailed on the third. I'm from Rockland County (west of Westchester, north of Jersey), so I could stay there  at least.

Oh, and Beltran had a monster postseason and wasn't touching that ball with a tennis racket. Plenty of blame to go around (Guillermo Moto getting torched by Scott Speizio, Shawn Green not catching Speizio's ball anyway, Heisman for the homer to Yadi, Glavine for getting beat up in game 5), but Beltran's towards the bottom of the list.
