This is especially DANGEROUS if one is listening with earbuds.  If one cranks the volume up to hear the broadcast the commercials are so loud they can hurt you.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

DAVE!!! should become a forever cheer, like the band cheer about the undergrad marching the wrong way which is what 30 years old now?

But I also think the costumes should be donated to Cornell Theater with the proviso that the Zamboni driver has their pick of anything in the costume shop warehouse on a game night, in perpetuity.

Also Dave's name should be inscribed on the Zamboni the way Ferrari has Jules Bianchi on their kit.

I think there is a setting on the earbud apps to protect against spikes -- an aural surge protector.  Now, have I ever bothered to actually figure it out and use it?

The issue is this era of Cornellians can't figure out new chants to save their lives.

Guy next to me, after the "UConn Rejects" chant: "oh, that's really smart"
Me: "that's why we say it..."

Mine on Android warns me.  To hear the game well if any noise is present I'm in the potential danger zone according to that.  I don't do IOS except as emergency tech support.

I'm guessing it's the same ratio of quality as always.  There have always been lots and lots of lame new cheers and a Darwinian struggle where the best survive -- just like we think 19th century literature was better because  of survivor bias.

Theodore Sturgeon was right.

If it throws a warning you can add an event where it just temporarily turns the audio down.  As long as it is monitoring you can make it dance.

The ice is always shitty when there's two games in a day

Why would I watch my TV with headphones? I mute the commercials and turn it down when it's over. Now I just have cc on

Wait.  How can the logo "come up"?  Isn't the logo a decal on the floor under the ice?

Have I really been watching for 45 years and not know how this works?

I watch and listen when sitting in Houston Field House in Troy.  The Ithaca game is always more compelling.

It's not on the concrete
It's on a layer of ice with a thin layer over top
Each time the Zamboni cuts the ice it shaves some off

Yale now heading back back to their locker room. I wonder if we're gonna get a bonus resurfacing.

Casey mentioned he had recommendation to thin the ice compared to last year. I think it's too thin.

He mentioned the wet ice at the beginning of periods last year and something else that I can't recall.

So much for the ice repairs that supposedly took place before the season
