Dark times ahead with the new five-year eligibility rule.

This makes sense to me. I don't think there are a great number of new Cornell hockey fans wishing to discuss hockey stuff over the summer months. The risk of turning away new fans right now is pretty low, compared to the obvious benefit of stemming the tide of new foreign spambot accounts posting in the forum.

That said, I remain hopeful that we'll have a better solution in place before the start of the new season in the fall.

mostly it's not posting the same thing for the 400th timie so that a new post notification from a real person is something more than a guy complaining about all the fake posts.
Seems like a weak solution. Any other ideas?

Yes  An ignore button so we won't have to see your drivel.

You are a bad vinyl pressing from Record Club of America playing on a broken Magnavox and none of us have a fucking off switch

I have no idea what any of this means so I'm gonna assume it's a compliment

The Rancor

I'm proposing fewer duplicate posts. You should be in favor of that.
The goal is to improve signal-to-noise ratio. You can help immediately.

Personally, I'd really like to learn how to speed up google indexing, so I appreciate the spam.

Unironically I have one of the better signal-to-noise ratios on here

The Rancor

4,102 posts later, your signal-to-noise ratio is mostly signal telling us there is noise.

You should probably get back to work, Mr. President.

Ever since The Rancor said this forum needs to improve its signal-to-noise ratio I've been trying to post more. But the NCAA's new five-year eligibility rule is having a counteracting effect and makes engaging with Cornell sports very discouraging.

The Rancor

The NCAA can grant another five years of eligibility. Unfortunately, there's still no limit for your posting career.
