Man, Rand Pecknold is such a choker.

I'd take his natty in a heartbeat

True that, sadly.

Quote from: BearLoveryou're in the 1% minority among sports fans. It's a commendable minority to be in, but I don't think there's a need to police the rooting interests of the other 99%.

No.  I don't know other Cornellians who are rooting against Robertson because he left.  You are in the tiny minority of Cornell hockey fans*, which is the appropriate comparison here.

People who boo a guy who leaves are like people who cheer when an opposing player gets hurt.  Sure, there are those people.  We have a pretty good idea what those people are like in the rest of their lives.

They are trash.  Noting they are trash is not policing them.  They have every right to be trash.  Indeed, it helps that they self-identify so the rest of us can keep our distance, point, and laugh.

* If you even are one.  With every ridiculous post you sound more like some kid taking a piss which, well, knock yourself out.
Yawn. Not worth engaging with personal insults. You're needlessly rude and completely off base here.

[Tavares returns to the LI after leaving in free agency and gets relentlessly booed/heckled the entire game]

You are conflating the 15 people who post on this forum with all Cornell hockey fans. You're out of touch. Poll Cornell students about how they'd treat Robertson if he were to return to Lynah. They're all trash, according to you. (And you're wrong about the views of people on this forum, too.)

And no, rooting against a player for leaving is NOT the same as cheering when they get hurt. WTF is wrong with you? How would that be the same thing at all?

You are woefully out of touch, with what Cornell fans think, with what sports fans think, and with what I think. You made a very stupid post.

People here need to understand that when they include in their posts personal insults, it doesn't come across as intended. It's just cringe-inducing, really lame stuff. It undermines the rest of your post. Trotsky and The Rancor are two of the biggest offenders. Sorry, I'm going to roll my eyes if you try to call me an elitist or act like I want players to get injured or root for Cornell to lose. How am I supposed to take your post seriously when you're so wildly off base? I have to imagine that I'm not really the audience for these insults; rather, you're fishing for approval from the other posters. Why else would you include a bunch of stupid conjecture in your posts? I've already largely stopped responding to that other guy on here who's been stalking me for a few years now. There's no need for stupid insults, especially when they're completely wrong.

I'm locking in on the NCAA tournament and I suggest you do the same.

Beat Denver!
Beat Robertson!

Man, Rand Pecknold is such a choker.
Choker in the ECAC, yet consistently meets or exceeds expectations in the NCAA. Three finals appearances in a 10-year span is incredible for an ECAC school.

Could be a sample size thing, could be that teams who have already locked up an NCAA birth don't play with the same edge in their conference tournament.

Whatever the reason, Rand's choking is specific to the ECAC tournament. Which makes it even stranger.

QPAC may not emphasize it if their at large is locked up too. Reminds me of UNC also flaming out of the ACC tourney.

Oh for sure. But the way it goes is: the few kids in the row who *do* know start jeering him/telling their friends, and it gradually catches on and eventually the whole section is doing it. Same way Healey on Harvard was randomly getting jeered the entire series two weekends ago.

I have zero ill will towards Robertson and wish him the best.

If Michigan played at Lynah, I'd expect everyone to give him a ton of shit over leaving and I'd join in if I were there too, because what else are you going to do?

So there's room to have it both ways.

So the eLynah Approved Rooting Posture is to heckle a guy in person for ditching our team, but to cheer for his success when he's not around.   ???  :o

I dunno, I don't consider it choking when the team isn't the favorite to win.

Quinnipiac's history of conference tournament underperformance is just astounding. Reminds me of Clarkson from the 90s (although those great Clarkson teams weren't good in the NCAAs, either). Maybe it's the green uniforms.
