There should be a double-cup awarded when the loss is in the *quarterfinals*.

An ill-fitting bra. Which is all of them.

I'll have to take your word for it.  I've only been on the other side of the bra.

#831
Added the round in which the Pecknold Cup was awarded.

Clarkson holds the ignominious honor of being the sole #1 to lose the First Round, when there were 5 games among the top 10, prior to byes.

4* of Rand's 9 Cups are from the QF on home ice.  No other coach has more than one.  The man is a living legend.

*However, in 2021 the ECAC Tournament was played in Hamden.  As only 3 teams made the COVID tournament, Rand lost the first game his team competed in (the final) so he has lost on home ice 5 times.

So...

AHA: Autobid only.
CCHA: Whoever wins isn't a threat to us/autobid, essentially, only.
ECAC: 62.5% chance for autobid to take a spot.
HEA: Autobid steals a spot.
NCHC: Top 16.
B10: 50/50 on autobid taking a spot.

Lose tomorrow and we're in 12th. 3 autobid spots are guaranteed, so 13 is the cutoff. We would need either Michigan to win or the ECAC to go to Dartmouth, I think.

Making the NCAA's may now come down to either 1) beat Harvard tomorrow or if not 2) Michigan beating Ohio State or Dartmouth winning the ECAC's.

Listening to Q-Clk on demand and laughing my ass off at the announcers who are complaining that Rand was complaining that players were moping on the bench instead of being positive.

Also notable that Q has awarded the cup to 6 different teams in their 9 occasions, with only Cornell, Harvard, and, improbably, Brown claiming 2 each. Gotta spread the love.

Brown has won the Cup 4 times, which given their less than stellar tournament record is pretty damn impressive, albeit they do get a lot more chances.

And again, looking at it from the optimistic side...

If we win out, are we assured a two-seed? I can't use the NPI tool to check, but winning out would mean either we beat Dartmouth in the finals or Dartmouth lost to Clarkson in the semis. Wondering if that's enough to get us to at least 8th.

Piling on....

Q went 0 for 12, -2 on the powerplay vs Clarkson.

When they finally play an NCAA game on March 26 or 27, it will have been almost exactly 4 weeks since they won a hockey game (Feb 28 at Harvard).  In the 6 weeks leading up to that NCAA game, they finished 2-4, with a -6 goal differential,
