Quote from: BearLover on March 07, 2026, 07:30:07 PMUnion wins 9-0, scoring 5 goals and outshooting Brown 26-2 in the third period even though they were already up 4-0 heading into it. That suggests to me they were running up the score. Not a good look, very Rand Pecknold-like. I feel bad for the Brown players and coaches.

Less running up the score and more that Brown is a bad team and has been for years. This new coach coming in is going to have a tall task ahead of him, assuming he even gets the right support from the Brown administration

Fun fact about St. Lawrence: they won one road game all season. They were 4 minutes away from doubling that total Friday night against Harvard, but couldn't seal the deal.

Thank you Union!!
Thanks for what exactly lol

Would have been cool to see Brown win IMO

For all the talk about attendance, I would think you'd be overjoyed. The games are guaranteed to be sellouts now
They'd be well attended if we played Colgate too. This seems like a "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" situation. Celebrating that we will be paired against the higher ranked and higher seeded team...you had better hope Cornell wins...

We all hope Cornell wins.

It's also not inconceivable that we match up better against Harvard than Colgate.

And for what it's worth, from Casey's email this week, which I won't quote since he has asked that we not do that here, it actually sounds like he and the team may have been hoping for Harvard. (IYKYK.)

i still worry that casey and the coaching staff want to beat me up with hammers for that 😭

But agreed - I think we match up better against Harvard. Gate tends to make us ultragoony, and ultragooniness can sink this team. Harvard plays a less... aggressive, game.

Colgate down 2-0 to Yale in the 2nd. Keep in mind that since Harder has been coach, he's never won a playoff game. Clarkson also probably wouldn't mind this result holding, as it means they would go to Hanover instead of Hamden

We didn't get any help from Connecticut vs Providence earlier, but St. Cloud State currently up 1-0 over Minnesota-Duluth early in the second.

BC band is playing Can't Hold Us by Macklemore.

Relatedly, they're up 2-0 vs Northeastern.

On the flip side, if you're a pessimist like me and focused on the 1% chance Cornell misses the tournament, Providence beating UConn was a good result for us.

Agreeing here. At this rate, we won't catch Prov anyway. Better to beat down the guys below us.

Tie game now (same score at Hamilton, too). Also some close NCHC games that have NPI implications are going on.

Final SOG were 59-22  :o  Can't remember the last time I saw a team nearly crack 60 SOG in an ECAC game (regular season or playoffs).

I keep forgetting the first round is one-and-done.  I just looked all over the CHN scoreboard trying to find tonight's Harvard/ SLU game

Colgate scores with 4 minutes to go and wins it 3-2.  God, poor Yale.
