Damn shame about the fine young players of Duke losing a late double digit lead to Houston and falling by three in the NCAA men's basketball semifinals. In the second half Houston didn't lead until the last 20 seconds. Nothing like allowing Houston an 11-1 run in just over a minute and a 7-0 run inside 15 seconds. Player of the year Cooper Flagg missed the go-ahead shot with 8 seconds left. Final, 70-67.

This caused me a pair of sports-PTSD-related Cornell flashbacks flashbacks: Big Red up 9-6 on Syracuse in the 2009 lacrosse title game, still up 9-8 with :03 left, lost in OT. And the 1973 NCAA semifinal hockey in Boston Garden, up 5-2 on Wisconsin early in the third period, Badgers tied with :05 left, and we lost in OT. I almost sympathize with the Blue Devils. Almost.

It hurts more when you're there in person.

Houston has a few fine young men also. Kelvin would not let them give up. Houston scrapped, bodied up, made shots. It was an incredibly impressive performance to keep working when defeat seemed certain.

The Ivy League is become a sports-prep-school feeder for big-money NCAA basketball.

mixed feelings about him leaving the conference for the usual reasons but from what i've seen idk if he's going to thrive in the sec

This lad done gonna find out. If he succeeds at Florida, it means Ivy players can play with that best. We can take some consolation in that.

upprdeck

It will be an interesting metric.

He is a 43% shooter and 33% from 3.  Just avg
Avg 17 per game the last 2 seasons. He doesnt steal the ball playing against mostly lower level talent. Only 3 assists per game as well.

His only P5 game last year vs Rutgers he shot 30% but scored 21 as het got to the line 8 times.

year before shot 30% vs UNLV and 33% vs rutgers again

Maybe he has another gear.  he hasnt really shown it.

Every time I've watched him in person hes been awful. That's been our home games vs Princeton and both Ivy tournament games so I'm not sure he's a big game player.

As I said before was not impressed with him.  Nice money though-congrats to him. Playing in the SEC will not make him a better player-either you got it or you don't to play in the NBA

The NBA talk for this guy? I just don't get it. Matt Morgan was/is a better player, and while he's done well in Europe, he's not quite NBA level. Neither is Lee.

NBA summer league legend.

But to defend Lee, there's more to being a prospect than just the numbers and I think Lee is definitely a better prospect than Morgan. He is bigger, has better handles, and played in an ivy that is stronger than what Morgan faced. His FG% is disappointing but it seems likes he is taking a lot of tough shots from isolation with his defender, ironically not the open shots that you'd expect with the "Princeton offense" which we do better than them at this point. But yeah overall I do not see him being an NBA caliber player and I wouldn't be surprised if he loses his starting role at Florida by the end of the year. Genuinely cheering for the guy though.

Maybe you're the jinx. Put your superpower to work. Go see some more Harvard hockey games, let's see if those Cantabrigians with the three last names in their names (Taylor Winthrop Charles III) now unravel faster versus Quinnipiac, Colgate, Clarkson. Consider it a farewell gift to Mike and a welcome-back present to Casey.
