It is an exhibition dingleberry clinging to the anus of 3x3.
yeah but it was cool a hell when shane went 3 for 3
Was it though?

Attendance was 16,593 according to CHN

Sounded like 16,500 were Cornell fans.

Yes. The entire crowd was standing and going nuts during the shootout, same as it's been for every shootout I've seen in person. Fans love the shootout. Fans also hate ties. That's why neither the shootout nor 3x3 OT is going anywhere. The NHL threw a bone to the casual fan, and it worked, and the NCAA followed. No use complaining about it.

Personally I like 3x3 in the NHL, less so in college, don't mind the shootout because it doesn't count towards the PWR anyway. But I don't think the purists in this chat have any idea how much the casual fan despises ties. To most fans, it feels like a loss for both teams.

You must've forgotten your hearing aids. While Cornell fans were in the majority, QU brought a nice fan contingent (much better than Penn State, UCONN, and UNH) that was plenty loud when QU did good things.

Mic placement.  The only time I heard any Q fans over the broadcast was during the 3x3 when they booed when we ragged the puck.

If you lead a good life, go to Sunday school and church, and say your prayers every night, when you die, you'll go to LYNAH!

I defy anybody to find fault with that period.  OK, the pp sucked, but otherwise that was divine.

Also, admissions standards appear to have dropped.  This is the prettiest group of Cornellians that has ever gathered in one place.

To be less chauvinistic, just consider how the ratio has changed. Even Engineering now enrolls more women than men, and it's still one of the top ten engineering schools in the country.

What was chauvinistic?  He included ALL the Cornellians. ::crazy::
"Yo Paulie - I don't see no crowd gathering 'round you neither."

In person it was the opposite. Cornell fans booed Q when they stalled. There was a decent Q fan turnout in the northeast corner of the building.

underskill

Was there any tribute for Schaefer's last MSG game?

Other than his son John singing the anthem (quite well) wearing a 1986 Schafer jersey, no.

Much less Cornelliana than in past years.  No introduction of Athletic Department or other university administration except for head of Board of Trustees. Only Cornell celebrity intro was Niuwendyk.  Odd.

They do less pomp in the off-years. The BU game gets more hype in terms of alumni and university introduction.

The Q crowd wasn't large but they were surprisingly loud when things went right. Pretty sedate during the typical run of play but they got up for the goals and the good saves.

As for the game itself, I thought we had more raw skill but a more stagnant offensive setup. Q had a lot more movement in the offensive zone - especially on the PP - and more willingness to make interesting passes to skaters looking for space rather than trying to win one-on-one with the puck or making safe perimeter passes. I would love to see our PP try to emulate theirs.

That's how I saw it too. A week or two ago Schafer noted we weren't "connected," and while I think we're improved in that area, Q does seem better connected, especially on the PP. We still stand around too much passing around the perimeter.
