Quote from: chimpfoodO'Leary is way too reckless to be playing in OT. He turned over the puck to them and then didn't get to the bench when he had an easy chance to, ended up pulling out a blocked shot but still too risky.

I don't think I've seen a guy that gassed

chimpfood

I'll take a tie there, just have to win when we go to Hamden to even it out. If we can get at least four points out of next weekend we'll be in a good spot

chimpfood

Also to hate on 3x3 again, 4 OT games today, all four ending in ties.

Why did they change the OT? It was fine before. Now it is completely dumb.

arugula

3 x3 works better for the nhl because the skill level is off the charts.  Here not so much. 4x4 may work better.

In any event I'll take the tie. First do no harm. Played very well for two periods.

Trotsky

3x3 sucks in the N, too.

They should go back to 5 minutes normal overtime and then a tie, full stop.  It was perfect.

It wasn't pretty but both teams pulled it off at the Garden today
Rangers finally won and Cornell took the shootout win
Geez, they've got a lot of work to do before next weekend

BearLover

Looked great 5x5 and special teams completely failed them again. What a shame—this team would be top 5 in the PWR if their PP and PK wasn't total shit. At least they've figured out how to limit turnovers.

BTW—losing Penney is a massive blow. Anybody know why/the severity?

Need to sweep Colgate next weekend. Need Penney back.

Schafer was very careful in the interview to say it was another freak injury and he wasn't putting any time table to it.

It could be one of those nagging things that are always week to week, and he just doesn't want to put any pressure on Penney to feel like he has to heal "on time."

Assuming we will not see him against Colgate he (and the rest of the MASH unit) have the full month of December to repair themselves.

Weder

Dumb question: Did I miss it or did Quinnipiac not change any of their players when they had all that offensive zone time at the end of overtime? Why wouldn't they be swapping out at at least one skater at a time against a totally gassed D?

they did rotate it once at a time. you didn't notice because like everyone else you kept nodding off.

two excellent periods and one real dogshit one. tilted ice: all goals by both teams scored in the same cage, including the shootout (props to shane).
