Please move all discussions of our fellow posters to here and cleanse the hockey threads.

I'll start.  Age's kid is way better looking than her dad.

Great idea!  It will be much easier to ignore them.

With respect to Mythic Quest:

French Rage

You could be like USCHO and just randomly ban 20 year posters for no apparent reason.

I thought the only account ever banned in USCHO history was the guy who called on a trans poster to be murdered.

OMG -- you are doing it here, too. Trashing the hockey team isn't enough.  Cornell lacrosse is ranked #1 at the end of March so if the team does not win the National Championship, they are losers.  What is wrong with you?  Didn't anyone ever explain that life is easier on all levels if you adopt a "glass is half full" philosophy rather than thinking like Eeyore.

The dude is toxic, just leave him to die in the cold alone.  Right now he's using the Thank You Schafer thread to trash Mike.  He's a POS; it took 2 seasons for me to learn to not engage.

You completely made up that I said this, nice!

You made assumptions about Mike not deigning to use the portal or care about game atmosphere.  For the former you are guessing, for the latter you are cripplingly ignorant.

As an asshole myself, I know you can't help yourself, however as a self-aware asshole I can tell you it isn't a good look and your denial of your toxicity is what makes you particularly repellent.  You have a birth defect.  We share it.  Own it.  Never disown your Buddha nature.

Now, go away forever.

I guess when you have as much bluster and self-righteousness as you do, you have no choice but to conjure up a bunch of fake shit to get angry at. Let's review what I said:

Quote from: BearLoverIf Cornell wants to get over the hump and start competing for national championships in earnest, here is what Casey needs to do:

Realistic short term goals:
—Improve the Lynah atmosphere.
The Lynah atmosphere has steadily declined the past two decades. Empty seats, students who sit all game and don't know any of the cheers. Casey needs to talk to the athletics department or whoever makes these decisions about doing anything possible to bring in more fans, particularly students. Season tickets should be way cheaper per game than individual tickets, special packages of multiple games should be good deals too. More giveaways/promotional night if those have been shown to improve attendance. The goal should be maximizing attendance/atmosphere, not maximizing revenue. I doubt Schafer focused any time on this, but I think there is some low hanging fruit here.

—Utilize the transfer portal more.
Casey used the portal all the time at Clarkson.  Schafer has been either unwilling or unable to. I think the team could find a great goalie in the portal if they wanted. The question is, do they want to upset team chemistry? I wouldn't want to overdo it, but I'm pretty sure Cornell could grab one or two good players a year to plug holes. The program has been too successful lately and kids will give it a hard look.

Stretch goal:
—NIL funding.
This might sound nuts, but if NIL is actually becoming a thing in college hockey (I'm somewhat skeptical), there is no reason why Cornell can't be involved. This school has too many rich alumni who care about the hockey program. It makes no sense why a place like BU, Denver, or Quinnipiac should spend more money on hockey than us, these schools have no revenues and way fewer rich alumni. Schafer didn't like the fundraising part of the job, but Casey can make real headway here if he wants.

I see three things you could conceivably take issue with.

1. " Season tickets should be way cheaper per game than individual tickets, special packages of multiple games should be good deals too. More giveaways/promotional night if those have been shown to improve attendance. The goal should be maximizing attendance/atmosphere, not maximizing revenue. I doubt Schafer focused any time on this, but I think there is some low hanging fruit here."

You think Schafer sat around thinking about how much season tickets should cost or whether to do another Taylor Swift bracelet giveaway? Get out of here with this nonsense, obviously Schafer wasn't spending time on that shit. Caring about the atmosphere does not equate to working with the athletic department on ideas to get more kids interested.

2. "Casey used the portal all the time at Clarkson.  Schafer has been either unwilling or unable to."

What is the issue here? Either Schafer didn't want to use the portal or he wasn't able to. There's nothing remotely controversial about this. There are downsides to bringing a bunch of players in through the portal, and maybe Schafer thought they outweighed the positives. Or maybe Schafer wanted players but they couldn't come due to lack of scholarships or admissions issues. The fact you're taking offense at this evidences how fake and manufactured your outrage is.

3. "Schafer didn't like the fundraising part of the job..."

Direct quote of Schafer's from his interview with Ken Schott this week.

Try harder next time to find things to get outraged at. This was an extremely weak effort on your part.
