New policy for Cornell at Harvard tickets

I called the HarvardSucks box office last week and they said tix go on sale 10/1. So today, being 10/1, I gave a call to order tickets for when the Big Red comes to town. I was informed of a new policy. Individual tickets to all regular season games can be purchased with the exception of the Cornell game. If you are not a season ticket holder, the only way you can get tickets to the COrnell game is if you purchase "The Package". The Package consists of tickets to the following games:

Princeton - 11/14
UMass - 12/13
Cornell - 1/9
RPI - 2/13
All for $44

HarvardSucks officially SUCKS!! A pathetic attempt by Harvard to ensure they actually have home-ice advantage on their home ice. Unfortunately, the home-ice fans consists of a bunch of oblivious students and faculty who would rather chit-chat with one another than watch the game.

So after saying all that nice stuff about Harvard fans...do any Harvard season ticket holders want to sell me their tickets to the CU game?

My email address didn't display properly in the first message. If any one wants to respond (or sell me their tickets), I can be reached at wilkery@yahoo.com

The plot thickens...  I just called the ticket office at 1-877-GO-HARVARD-SUCKS and was told that tickets go on sale for hockey either Friday or Monday.  Also they are charging for their exhibition game (Guelph) this year, which I don't think was the case last year.

Perhaps they have it in their heads that they are a national contender this year and that there will be tons of ticket sales (even for the poorly attended Guelph game, which, last year, was certainly poorly attended)... remains to be seen.

Didn't think it was possible to hate Harvardsucks even more. What a bunch of dicks, buisness savy dicks, but dicks nonetheless.  Sucks that they'll get an extra $33.  Wish I could pay them in cash and give them some of my "ass dollars".  Guess we'll just have to make sure to pack the place, another win up there would be worth every penny.

I suspect that walk-up sales will not cost $44.  Two of the games will already have been played, and I doubt that they are going to stick people with the RPI ticket.  I think they figure (correctly) that fewer people will travel if they don't have tickets in advance.

In any event, scalped tickets will certainly be less than $44.

Option 1: Buy package for $44 to get a $12 Cornell@HarvardSucks Ticket, donating $32 to Harvard Athletics, but assuring low attendance at some games.

Option 2: Join Cornell Club of Boston for $32 (individual membership), get $12 ticket (I think that is how it works), with the extra $32 benefitting the CCOB.

Just a thought.

Does this apply to Harvard students as well?

Also, anyone know the deal with Cornell's alotment of tickets to this game?

Wow, that's quite the inflation from ass pennies.  It's probably sloppier, but either way, I guess you get the upper hand. :-)

Harvard has season ticket holders?  Who?  The band?

RedAR

I just called the HahvahdSUCKS ass ticket office, and from my conversation, it seems that Harvard students are stuck buying this ridiculous package if they want to go to the Cornell game (unless you have season tickets).

Does the AD know about this new package?  Is there anything we can do?

nyc94

Do they distinguish between student and non-student tickets?  That is, can we get in if we somehow can buy a ticket off an apathetic Harvard student?  I only ask because in 1993 a friend and I drove to Chapel Hill for Duke v. Carolina basketball and had to beg to be let in with the student tickets my friend had secured for us.  They actually wanted to see our UNC IDs.

Can we complain to the ECAC and/or NCAA about this?  It's one thing to ream your own alums for Harvard-Yale football. . . but this is clearly aimed at reaming Cornell.  I suggest we start a forum of ideas for signs.

Is the CCoB selling tickets to the Hahvahd game only?  Because, obviously, I would rather have my money go to something remotely Cornell-affiliated rather than Hahvahd(SUCKS!).

Is next year here yet?

crodger1

I am no expert here, but I thought those tickets came out of the CU allotment, which, one would assume, would not be "package" tickets.

I shouldn't have stuck my neck out here too much since I don't know all the details that well.

this sucks

plain and simple. i would try to go the walk-up route. it would be a long trip to get turned away but i doubt this would happen. or the boston club route would be good too. I would think that buying from the CU ticket office would get u one ticket too. good luck, guys!

just thought of something, what would prevent them next year from requiring that you purchase tickets for every game if you wanted to go to just one game? slippery slope (overused sorry)

OK Al, as a CC of Boston member, what is the situation for tickets through them. I remember in past years you were not guaranteed a ticket just because of membership. True now or not?
