No complaints about the game thread but can you please include sport in the thread title?
"Mark Mazzoleni looks like a guy whose dog just died out there..."

We blow out Yale thanks to good play and to terrible Yale hands in the first half, there's fan enthusiasm, and now football is getting game by game separate subjects. When I ran out of Schoellkopf from the Yale game, for a moment, a crazy stupid moment, I thought, if we can beat Yale and Yale is supposed to be the best Ivy team, could we ... win the Ivy title outright for the first time, new coach, his first year? By the time I got to the car, my head had cleared.

My thought (from afar) was more along the line of how many wins would it take him to be Ivy coach of the year?

To be clichéd, either the Ivy championship or Ivy COTY will require taking one game at a time.

BEAT ALBANY!

Albany made it to the national semifinal round, where they lost to the eventual national champion South Dakota State.  I just hope we come out of this game without any serious injuries heading into the bulk of the Ivy League season coming up.

In the past I have gone over to Hamilton to watch Colgate battle CAA teams such as Richmond (Going to Patriot League next season) and Villanova.  Being out of the CAA Albany does not have the restrictions the Patriot or Ivy League (Academic Indexing).  Noticed that athletically the CAA teams were a step above Colgate's talent and expecting the same of Albany next Saturday against the Red.  Wang's passing and Cornell's receiving corps gives the Red a chance IMO (Waiting for Kiser to break out).

We should all have your optimism.

We missed by five years honoring the centennial of a comment by this sportswriter (not Damon Runyon, not Grantland Rice):

Unsurprisingly, Albany OL looks like they're going to push us around all day. That said, the D had a good stand on the edge of the red zone on the opening drive and forced a FG.

Al DeFlorio

Inauspicious start on offense:  3 and out along with a procedure penalty.  Tough going against what appears a bigger, faster team.

Do we have any chance in this?  My impression of SUNY-A is they are just a half-step below being an FBS D-1 program.

We'd have to use guile.
