Thanks for the explanation. I thought I was losing my mind when the game never appeared this afternoon and the Cornell calendar said the game was on Sunday.

I would be curious to know what kind of problem could arise so abruptly that playoff games would need to be postponed....

As per Cornell Athletics' website, because of the move none of the remaining games will be streamed. A bad look for Columbia (which has had a lot of bad looks lately).

Apparently the mound is artificial turf and that's where the problem is. I didn't know that was a thing.

It does look like dirt. And Columbia's page for the stadium says it is. "The surface is a hybrid fiber, rubber and sand infill blend designed to have a more consistent feel. It covers both the infield and outfield, with the only dirt covering the mound and home plate."

That said, hard to believe they couldn't fix a dirt mound overnight.

On the other hand, Cornell's press release also says turf:

"A locker room upgrade was completed in the spring of 2019 and turf mounds were installed on the field and bullpens during an upgrade later that summer."
