The espn+ schedule seems to indicate it will be available to subscribers without an additional cable subscription.  (Knock on wood.)

This was not true last year, or at least the games were only available on the ESPN channels and not espn+.  (I was able to watch about 30 minutes of the 2022 regionals before they told me my trial was over.)

If you pay for ESPN+ you can watch the stream

Right, I have espn+ as part of the Disney+ bundle, and I've used it to watch assorted college hockey games during the year.  But what's different this season, compared to last, is that the NCAAs are available either through epsn+ or espn2.  (For the regionals, it would prompt me, when I selected a game, as to which feed I wanted to try to access.)
