upprdeck

the quin guys thought Yale was a pretty likely upset winner..

I can see Princeton upsetting Union. I can also see Brown getting past SLU albeit a bit less likely.

Just received an email that the Wicked Witch of ECAC is letting spectators watch Dartmouth at RPI this weekend!?!

::popcorn::
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Best gate in LP would be Cornell, Clarkson and pick-em. Maybe Quinnipiac with visions of a march to the NCAA title might hire buses but how do they find a conditional block of 40 or 200 rooms that would let them cancel if they got bounced in the quarters? If RPI made it in, they'd draw fans.

St. Lawrence? It's not like we haven't talked about this before.

Quote from: martySince Dartmouth apparently won the tie breaker vs Yale this begs as to why they pulled their goalie in OT vs Union last night.

I would suspect there was confusion about what the tiebreaker actually was.  Even though the first tiebreaker now reads "Comparison of points attained head-to-head" rather than "head-to-head record", it's likely they thought they would lose it since their "head-to-head record" against Yale was 1-1 and Yale would have taken the second tiebreaker on league wins.

But this is the new math, and Yale's win over Dartmouth was in overtime, meaning that Dartmouth won the "comparison of points attained head-to-head", 4-2.
If you lead a good life, go to Sunday school and church, and say your prayers every night, when you die, you'll go to LYNAH!

Q drew very well the last time.  The fuckers seem to have finally learned to drive.  It's probably a doctoral program.

Union drew very well when they were strong.

Q is a notorious and historical commuter school, meaning most kids there are a few towns away from the parental laundry machines. An excuse to take a weekend to a resort area hours away where there are bars that are lax at carding. Like a magnet.

Q isn't as much of a commuter school as it used to be. It has built a bunch of new dorms on the hill where the hockey rink is located, and according to the school, 55 percent of the students now live on campus. When I go for bike rides on a rail trail in Hamden, I see many Q students with out of state license plates. Only 27 percent of the students are from CT. It's also interesting that 62 percent of the students are female.

This is good and bad for the males on campus. The bad part: If you strike out there, your case is hopeless.

I'm trying to recall issues around gender-ratio discrepancies. I believe schools are wary of an imbalance past 60-40 because, if it's > 60% female, the women aren't happy with the slimmer pickings. And I believe some schools believe > 60% female has some men believing the school is a women's college that accepts some men. That's decade-old information, though. Also, Q has a school of nursing which historically has been majority female. (But then Cornell Engineering was majority-female as of the Class of 2021. So things change.)

Dartmouth wins game 1 at RPI.

Trotsky

Yale ties at Colgate with 7 seconds to play.

Trotsky

SLU with a couple late goals to lead Brown 4-1.

Trotsky

Union late goal has them up on Princeton, 3-1 and their announcers are so awful I can't continue listening.

Trotsky

If results hold tomorrow we'd play either Colgate (if they win in ot) or Union (if Yale wins).
