Quote from: upprdeckonly good thing the last 2-3 weeks is that really we are a play away from winning instead of tying/losing these last 6-7.  half of these games it was just  a matter of not missing an open net with the key goal..  Locke somehow stuffing it behind the goalie and missing the goal. was it brown the puck was under the goalie on the line ?  the big comeback we had an open net and whiffed. I think one other as well.

If Locke played on the women's team perhaps his redirection goes in :-)

Women finish the RS in Potsdam at 3.  They are in 7th in conference and have been playing well and winning the games they needed to down the stretch, beating Clarkson (current 5th), SLU (6th), Colgate (4th), and SLU again over the last 4 weekends.  They would finish 6th by beating Clarkson if Colgate also beats SLU today, otherwise they finish 7th.

The women's team seem to be managing better without their head coach -- who was helping coach Canada to a gold medal -- than the men. I assume Doug will be back in time for the playoffs next week, if he's not back with the team already.

Cornell gets the No. 6 seed and will play at Colgate in the best-of-three quarterfinals.
At a glance, I think this is the Red's first RS sweep of Clarkson since 2008-09.

incredible run for the women. hope the guys were paying attention!

In the women's game especially, goaltending wins games. Lindsay Browning an absolute rock for the Red.

Would love to see the Women's ECACs be played at Placid alongside the Men's.  Grow the appreciation of the game, get more fans' butts in seats, and also make the conference title more of an event.

I agree, but you'd need to shift the entire NCAA schedule to do this. The women's NCAA tournament is underway the weekend of the men's conference championships. That said, there has been discussion of holding the men's and women's basketball Final Fours at the same location so maybe they could align the hockey schedules.

It would be great to have an MSG doubleheader. (Edit: On Thanksgiving weekend.)

You misspelled Lake Placid.

There or if we must Albany.  Not Boston.  And certainly not New York.

Sorry, I meant for the Thanksgiving weekend game.

Oh, that would be awesome!
