The last few times down the ice they kept setting Malinsky up to bomb it and he got in deeper that time and picked the far post.

Malinsky's shot beat the goalie on the near post and then ricocheted around to the other side of the net.

That's exactly what it was.  In the rink it was announced as "playing the puck with the hand on a faceoff."
