Thanks ic
From the twO graphs I take away two main points:

[list=1]
  • SOS is largely a function of the conference you play in,
  • and in 2003 we belonged to the elite top cluster of teams, but this year we are in the second cluster.

That's nice. Fun task for historians. How many times has that happened in modern (introduction of the women's tournament) history? Wisconsin won both championships in 2006. Minnesota was strong in both in the early 2000s, and Duluth had both strong in early 2010s.

Anyway. Ultimately meaningless, yes, but there's some pride in it and something to show off to our coworkers.

According to a tweet from @CornellSports that my daughter forwarded to me, this is the first time both teams have been ranked number one at the same time.

I hope we do everything we can with this while it lasts.  If nothing else it's a helluva recruiting theme.

If I show it to my coworker he'll just get pissed. And he's bigger than me and stronger than me and I'll just pass for now on the office talk...

Personally I'd rather be #2 and try harder.

But people in the office are bringing me newspapers, so it is fun to talk about.

Let's just be sure that SLU is not like Q.
