Looks like they need to pay more attention to their website content as well....

Are you kidding?  We'd be lucky to get that kind of crowd.  I'm thinking something like this:

So we know the men's ECACs are only on the internet.  Will the women's NCAA semifinal Friday night be televised?  I couldn't find anything about it in a brief search.

There should be a free stream through ncaa.com. That's how the quarterfinals and last year's tournament worked.

Women's frozen four will not be televised; ncaa.com for the free stream

Too bad.  I got Jillian's in Albany to put the Championship on in 2010, and even the casual hoops fans got interested by the 2nd OT.

According to this USCHO thread, the Women's semis haven't been televised since '07, and the '11 Final was yanked after CBS acquired the CSTV network.  I remember using the TUC center wifi to get CU-Mercyherst updates for the '10 semi, and then catching the winning goal in the hotel room.

In 2010 the Cornell Club of Miami had a watch party for the basketball game v. Wisconsin at a sports bar and I did manage to get a tv with the women's hockey game on it. I don't recall much of the b-ball game.

Does the arena in AC have wireless? It I have this right, the women play at 5 pm, the men at 7:30 (?, I think game 1 is at 4:30). So provided no OT, then the women should be ending just as the men's game gets under way.

No, the Semis are at 6:00 and 9:00 EDT, barring OT, with BC-Wisc getting the early slot.  CU-Minn is the late game.

For the Men's ECAC, the game times are listed as 4:30 (UC-Col) and 7:00 (CU-HU) but that late time isn't realistic.  Even with a fast regulation game (say 2:00 flat) they have to clear the ice and give warmup time.  If A.C. has a way to bet on start times, I'd put loads on the "over."

Men @ 7 EDT

Both are second games and start times are subject to delay.

Thank you all for setting me straight on the starting times. I might actually be able to have a short conversation with my parents before becoming totally engrossed in games on my computer and telling everyone to "hush". :-)

WOW I haven't posted on here in over 10 years.
I feel like the whole point being missed on this thread is that the audience for the ECAC Championship game on television is MINISCULE.  As in if a Polish language talk show was being aired, it would get similar ratings.
I noticed the MAAC basketball conference tournament was not televised in the New York area for the first time in I would guess 20 years.
I'm sure that gets higher ratings than ECAC hockey (though miniscule as well).
I will be in Atlantic City on Saturday.   Anyone complaining about the lack of exposure of the games can get in a car and watch the games in person.  While Atlantic City is not centrally located, it is not prohibitively far to drive from northeast locations.  If you are that passionate about it, go to Boardwalk Hall.
:)

I hear what you are saying but I really don't think anything is being missed.  The point here is that this makes the ECAC look like a third rate conference, which it is, in the eyes of the other conferences, hockey fans and more importantly, coaches and recruits.  Any dedicated fan can watch the games but it's not about the dedicated fans.  It's about what this means for Cornell Hockey as part of this conference that can't even get itself on network TV and has also chosen to play its final four at a venue that makes no real sense.  I understand that Cornell will always be tied to the Ivy league but with the continuing changes in student, and therefore student athlete aid at Ivy League institutions, I believe that Ivy League schools have a better chance at recruiting smart and talented student athletes.  It's a shame that this conference and its inability to play with the big boys is working against that trend.  Its not ideal but I'd much rather dump the league, play two or maybe even three games each against the six Ivy teams, and schedule non-conference games versus the other ECAC teams, hockey east teams, and even other conference teams.  I know that filling a non-conference slate of games is not easy but anything has to be better than this embarrassment.  Just venting.

Ferris State vs. Cornell will be rebroadcast tomorrow, 4/5 at 1PM on ESPN-U.  This will hopefully include the beginning of the game which was preempted during the live broadcast last Saturday.
