Because you're all a pack of disillusioned p***ies.

RAAH!

GO COLGATE!

Brett

[Q]Harvard does not care about you at all. Neither does Clarkson. Get over it.[/Q]

We, the Clarkson Pep Band, care about Cornell, that's why we go there every year.  The only reason to go to Colgate is to watch Clarkson get out the frustrations of the previous night in Ithaca.  Also why would we make such cool shirts?

Ana, it seems to me the quote is for Cornell's own amusement, and they don't even think about whether other people see it or not because it's an inside reference (if not quite a joke).  So you ARE dumb.*

*This sentence = sarcasm.  Don't ask.

Jill

Mannnn, you have NO idea.

Josh '99

Well, I suppose for someone who has such illusions of a rivalry, we WOULD appear "disillusioned", wouldn't we?  :-P

Awww, that's so sweet!  You had us at hello!  B-]

By the way, I love Mike Walsh.  He's fun to yell at.  I just thought I'd share.  :-D

You know, things are getting a little heated in here, so I thought it would be nice to read some pleasant song lyrics:

"Way down upon the Swanee River,
Far, far away.
That's where my heart is turning ever.
That's where the old folks stay.
All up and down the whole creation,
Sadly I roam,
Still longing for the old plantation,
And for the old folks at home.

All the world is sad and dreary,
Everywhere I roam,
Oh! Lordy, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old folks at home.

All 'round the little farm I wandered
When I was young,
Then many happy days I squandered,
Many a song I sung.
When I was playing with my brother
Happy was I.
Oh! take me to my kind old mother,
There let me live and die.

All the world is sad and dreary,
Everywhere I roam,
Oh! Lordy, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old folks at home.

One little hut among the bushes,
One that I love,
Still sadly to my mem'ry rushes,
No matter where I rove.
When will I see the bees a-humming'
All around the comb?
When will I hear the banjo strummin'
Down in my good old home?

All the world is sad and dreary,
Everywhere I roam,
Oh, Lordy, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old folks at home."

I hope this settles some people down...

Ohhhhhh I LOVE this subject of discussion.  All I have to say is:

Fight, fight, fight for dear old Colgate!
With Heart and hand now we'll win for thee!
Oh, we will fight, fight, fight for Alma Mater,
On to victory we're marching!
Foes shall bend their knee before us,
And pay their homage to pow'r so great,
So let us send out a cheer, and DRINK ALL THE BEER,
While we are fighting hard for old Colgate. FIGHT!

JNB

Don't worry, I'm playing over it in my head ...

Ana

Grant,

I'm not sure if you are trying to be v. sarcastic, or if you honestly are that clueless (sorry, but really...)

The whole low-brass-Swanee-River thing....yeah, we don't like that.  It's very rude.  Plus, you guys keep promising not to play it, then playing it anyway.

So, as a calming technique, you could do better.  At least for Colgate.  Perhaps the Cornell people find it soothing...I don't know about them.

I prefer this one, it sounds a hell of a lot better!

Fight, fight, fight for dear old Colgate!
With heart and hand now we'll win for thee!
Oh, we will fight, fight, fight for Alma Mater,
On to victory we're marching!
Foes shall bend their knee before us,
And pay their homage to pow'r so great,
So let us send out a cheer and banish all fear,
While we are fighting hard for old Colgate.

Your objection to Swanee is because it's RUDE?  That's it?

A)  For cryin' out loud, it's a college hockey game, not a New York Symphony concert.  Being rude is part of the atmosphere.  If you want polite, you should either listen to Tom Lehrer's "Fight Fiercely, Harvard", or go to a game at Princeton or something.

B)  Playing over it is no less rude.
