Twice :-D.

While being played over... although maybe it wouldn't be called 'playing', but drums were being banged... Colgate, the first step towards a rivalry is respect, and you've really gotta add a little more class, IMHO. The sheep, the playing over swanee... come up with more clever things and less blatantly offensive, please, I'm begging you.

For some reason, our discussion of the "atmosphere" at Starr put me in mind of this epic thread and the jilted Colgate bandie quoted below:

Yah wtf. Theyre funny to be around, in that its really funny to hang out with Ithaca trash sort of way. Stupid, lying, not-enough-decency-to-email-you-back-after-telling-you-youre-cute, trash. I see the light. hahaha[/q]

Hmmm. What fraction of Colgate band matriculants applied to two schools in upstate New York that start with C-O ... and only got into one?

Ok, I am now calm enough to write about this. The thing about Swanee is. . . dudes, don't play it in our rink.  If you want to do it, fine, tradition or whatever is fine.  But it is rude when we (or say, the drum major at the time, ahem) asks you not to play it in our rink after said drum major complied with the wishes of Cornell to leave it alone while in Ithica. . . and then YOU DO IT ANYWAY.  That's the beef.  We are just as rude as the next fans in our rink, could we call ourselves hockey fans if we weren't?  Alright that's all. [/q]

to the bandies: could y'all make sure you play Swanee at Starr on friday night. thanks:-)

Dear God, this thread is still hanging around??

I remember the night this thread went crazy.  Glad I didn't get too involved in posting on it though because IIRC people said some pretty harsh things here (and I'm not going back through this whole thing!).

I'd imagine (or at least certainly hope) that this isn't even an issue under consideration.

First college to offer an EE degree, and still in the top 10, so we must be doing something right.  Don't see Colgate anywhere on that list.

I didn't know that TC3 students followed college sports...

Nothing says "rivalry" like "Can we please have a rivalry?"

Possibly the funniest line in eLF history.
