Ditto, dude.  Rico's the man.

Nate - \'Gate \'01

Hey everyone, it's Nate from the beruit game. I know I'm a little late to the discussion, but crusties sometimes take a little longer to hear about these things. If I remember correctly (I was on my 4th game of beruit, so things are a little fuzzy...) Cornell had some help from RPI in the game. Perhaps I could get some confirmation/denial here. Either way thanks for a good game - lets play again soon. Anyone there up for making it a best out of 3? May the better band win...

Rico

Haha.. this is great.

First of all, I chose a section at random to call sketchy.. I would've picked bones, but I know there are only a handful of you. So I thought something like percussion would be a little more humorous. Our percussionists are sketchy. I didn't mean to deeply offend you, but I guess it IS funnier that way.

As to the meat comments, well, our men are desperate. I saw they were pulling out bills for you. Whatever that was about.... but my fight is not with you, trombones should transcend all barriers.

You called down the thunder, well now you got it. Thursday is going to be a heck of a time :-D

Ok, I am now calm enough to write about this.  Then I am leaving this damn site.  The thing about Swanee is. . . dudes, don't play it in our rink.  If you want to do it, fine, tradition or whatever is fine.  But it is rude when we (or say, the drum major at the time, ahem) asks you not to play it in our rink after said drum major complied with the wishes of Cornell to leave it alone while in Ithica. . . and then YOU DO IT ANYWAY.  That's the beef.  We are just as rude as the next fans in our rink, could we call ourselves hockey fans if we weren't?  Alright that's all.  See you all Thursday.  Thanks for the entertainment ;-)

Hey Nate, sure as hell I don't remember, I'd had quite a bit a tequila at that point.  But you had some terrific shots, from across the room.  It's entirely possible RPI played half the game.  Damned if I know.

Ana

I'm gonna take Jill and Jesse's word for this, since I didn't actually meet Rico...but now I'm looking forward to possibly meeting him on Thusday...

Where is Marty?  I really can't wait to read his take on all of this.

I can't confirm that, but neither do I have any reason to argue with it.  (Except for whoever the pansy conductor was who agreed not to play it, I'd argue with that.)  I could see being pissed off at being told it wouldn't be played and then it being played anyway.

To the Only Real Pep Band in the Ivy League:  If I find out that you didn't play Swanee at Starr, I am demanding my donation back.

Damn straight.  This is going to be so much fun!

Point of clarification for any who might be wondering, why is this freshman the only Colgate freshman posting a lot?  Why does she care?

Honestly, it's not Cornell resentment per se.  Heck, I got into Cornell!  I got major scholarship offers!  Cornell wanted me!

It's a combination of wanting to correct misstatements, a test of my logical abilities, and the pure addiction of reading post...after post...after post....

Yeah, so nobody cares about what I just wrote.  But I felt like writing it anyway.

Okay, whoever you are (I'm assuming an alumnus/a)

I am officially scared of you now.

As far as Swanee goes, we'll talk before the game.  That's something that needs to be discussed between me, our DM, and Cornell's admins.  To talk about it now would be wrong and could lead to bad feelings.

Ok folks, I'm out.  I can't take anymore.  I'd like to reiterate that this is all in good fun, and I'd gladly have a beer with any Cornell band member.  Don't let this leave the ice, where it belongs.  Good luck to all, and a good night to most.

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe. So, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. 'Give me five bees for a quarter', you'd say. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah...the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war; the only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.
