NCAA lacrosse title weekend - good outcome

If Cornell can't be there, at least there's a team from upstate New York with Syracuse's 12-11 double OT win over Virginia in the first NCAA seminfinal.

And then Hopkins taking down Duke and its five-years-of-eligility team of destiny, 10-9.

Sweet.

Can't say I'm a big Hopkins fan, having watched a few painful games against the Red, but I was certainly in their corner today.  We cheered their every goal and cringed at the late-game turnovers.  Those last few seconds were nerve-wracking, but somehow they held on.  Buh-bye, Blue Devils.

And come Monday, I'm switching back to the upstate NY side.  Go 'Cuse.  Wait, I'll be in Spain, so...Vamos 'Cuse.

Everyone else that was on the team the year of the "incident" got an extra year of eligibility. So Greer is likely to be playing another year, and they were saying on the broadcast that he wanted to get a little closer to his home in Ontario. Sounds like Cornell might actually be a decent choice.

I'm sure a lot of it depends on his major and if he really wants to go to grad school for it. I have no clue what his undergrad major is though. Some of the Duke guys are in business school or law school for their grad career and still playing.
