0 for 12 on the power play, with a SHG allowed.

0 for 12.

Really not much else I can say.

We need some new NCAA rule where the 1st period doesnt count.  Anyone have a GF-GA by period for this season?

If the PP is going to continue to suck, I'd like to see a rule change to allow us to decline the penaly (ala football).   After all, if we're not going to score on the PP, why accept the penalty and give the other team momentum by successfully killing the penalty.

Cornell now 0 for its last 20 on the power play; opponents are 7 for 16 (43.8%) during that 3 game stretch.

Looks like I picked a good game to not be able to follow. Yuck.

*insert typical special teams commment*

I'd guess this might change some people's perspective on the Davenport/Scrivens issue.

From today's Ithaca Journal:

"It is time for us to make a statement. We've been saying that for about a month now, that we need to come out and make a statement. Time for us to show up and show the country how good a team we know we are."

They made a statement all right, it's just not one you can repeat in polite company. ::laugh::

I want to vomit with rage.

Something's wrong...Something's very wrong.

But it's reversable....DAN DILEO TO THE RESCUE!

Observations from the game (from Anne, Age, Kate, and me, after a few drinks) as a round-table discussion:
Anne: No first comment.

Age: Worst game of the year.  Would have lost by more without Davenport.

Kate: Go Marv!

Jon: Seminoff played very well.

Anne: You stole my positive.

Age: Again? Um? I need more time.

Kate: Momma told me not to say anything if it's not good.

Jon: Pass-pass-shoot on the powerplay!

Anne: Annoying saint-girl is finally gone.

Age: Apparently, when I turned off Rt 81, I passed into some alternate reality where it was ok for Marvin McLeod to log substantial minutes on the powerplay and penalty-kill.

Kate: There's always next year.

Jon: Statistically, the expected value suggests we will score on the powerplay.

Anne: Sticking the band in the corner makes sense.

Age: Does anybody want to buy a ticket to the Clarkson game?

Kate: Go Marv!

Jon: At least the beer is cold.

Anne: Who knew St. L. had a horn they sounded when they won, it's been a while.  The "program" cost $1 and consisted of a single 11 x 17 sheet of paper folded over to increase the apparent usefullness.

Age: Marv is a great guy, it really wasn't his fault.  :)

Kate: Nobody has made a comment on Bitz (crowd: Ooooooooooo ...)

Jon: That was a hand pass! (SLU(t) 2nd goal)

Anne: Pass.

Age: Are we done with the Scrivens should start crap?

Kate: Pass.

Jon: Shoot!

Anne: I prefer frozen tundra to a muddy, unpaved, bog for a parking lot (thank SLU(t))

Age: Did you type crap or debate?

Kate: What movies are playing at the Potsdam theater?

Jon: I'm optimistic.  I've got a good feeling.

Anne: Appleton is still one of my favorite rinks.  I just don't like it when the SLU-rpee fans are so happy.

Age: I need more beer.

Kate: Tomorrow night will separate the men from the boys.

Thank you joining us tonight, live from room 206 at the Comfort Suites.

Nice to know the Comfort Suites got round tables.  Hopefully they had fridges for the beer, and not a safe that one fills with ice to put tuna salad in.  [/Frozen Four inside joke]

Clap.....clap.....clap.....clap.  Hall-of-fame post.  There are very few times in a persons life when one wishes to be in Canton, NY.  Despite the outcome from Appleton tonight, this is one of those times.  Give Potsdam hell tomorrow, folks.

Sincerely,

The one night all year when everybody else is  ::drunk::, I'm sober.  Irony.
Hard to blame them.

Well, that's how I felt after leaving the women's game...maybe more disgust than rage..
Something's wrong...Something's very wrong.
...and then I found out about SLU and the 4 freshmen and the powerplay and the penalty kill and the pulled goalie...and RIT smoking Sacred Heart on the road...
