Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 13 years ago
More on Leblanc - according to Bob McKenzie on twitter , his rights in the Q were traded from Chicoutimi to Montreal yesterday. There's a few tweets about it from approximately 4 PM yesterday. McKenzie speculates that if he leaves, a main reason will be the late start date to Ivy League teams' seasons causing him to be overlooked for a spot on the Canadian World Juniors team.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: Potential NCAA Rule Changes - 14 years ago
Josh '99 Ronald '09 Although I go back and forth on the two-line pass rule. Allowing two-line passes certainly increases the pace of the game, but it undoubtedly has also significantly increased injuries. How so? I've never heard anyone say that before. When a two line pass is made, defenders come from further away than shorter passes. If that pass is along the boards, it increases collisionsby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Potential NCAA Rule Changes - 14 years ago
ftyuv I'm a couple years out of date with my NCAA rules, but from when I was in watching regularly, the one (and only) rule I'd have liked to see is that teams that ice can't change lines. I remember one Princeton game where they got the early lead and spent the rest of the game icing. Yuck. They put that rule in either this past year or the year before, a few years after the NHL incorporated iby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Playoffs - 2010 - 14 years ago
Josh '99 Ryan Vesce was out of the lineup as the Worcester Sharks beat the Lowell Devils 3-2 yesterday afternoon to take a 2-1 series lead. I haven't been able to find an explanation as to why he missed the game, or prediction as to whether he'll play in game 4 in Lowell tomorrow night. I would assume one of two things. Either he suffered an injury (though he scored in overtime the pby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - April 2010 - 14 years ago
RatushnyFan I was at the Devils game. Moulson looked good, I was impressed with his poise and passing. Skating looked fine, he looked like he belongs in the NHL. Unlike many of his teammates who are simply horrible. Tavares was not impressive tonight at all. And Freddy Meyer.........just no. Just got home from the Devils game. Got to see the Devils clinch the Atlantic division and score aby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - April 2010 - 14 years ago
Moulson just netted one in the skills competition, dog and pony show part of the Isles Habs game. According to Howie Rose on the broadcast, he's 4/7 this year.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

cbuckser According to The Fourth Period, Brendon Nash has signed an entry-level contract with Montreal. The Fourth Period's not exactly a reputable source, but this is: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=523169by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Women's Hockey - 14 years ago
Tom Lento Jacob '06 Kyle Rose BTW, Tom, do you know if Johnston gets a redshirt for this year's absence, or did she lose a year of eligibility? Was she even enrolled at Cornell this year? Not knowing what i'm talking about, I don't know how she could lose a year of eligibility if she wasn't enrolled in school. I believe the Ivy does 4 years of eligibility to be used within 5 calendar years, bby Ronald '09 - Hockey

2-1 Miami with 4:04 to go. If they hold on, does that keep us above Ferris even with a loss?by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Games Sat 3/20/2010 - 14 years ago
Miami and Ferris are scoreless about 3 minutes into the second. Live blog: EDIT: make that 1-0 Miami right as I posted.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

Lauren '06 Moulson with one assist in the first period against Vancouver. I meant to go, had the date circled on my calendar and everything, but I ran out of money. That assist came on Harvard's Dylan Reese's first NHL goal.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

scoop85 Jeff Hopkins '82 dbilmes Speaking of Yale's goalie, I listened to the Yale game on their student radio station, and the announcers were horrible. They referred to the Yale goalie as "Billy" throughout, while all the other players were referred to by their last names. And most of the time they didn't bother telling you which team had the puck, they just called out the names of thby Ronald '09 - Hockey

amerks127 Jim Hyla Using USCHO Pairwise Predictor I can get us to 7, but no higher. Strictly out of curiosity, what's the lowest Cornell could go? I got us down I think to 17th, but I didn't get us worse than a tie for 11th (with Yale) if we beat Brown. That would be 5 lowly ranked conference winners, making us the last at large bid. So, unless I missed a scenario, it's beat Brown and we'reby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: Other Scores, Sunday March 14 - 14 years ago
3-2 Maine in OT. Mankato now up 2-1 I think approximately midway through the third. EDIT - make that 2-2 7:31 to go. 3-1 Sioux with just over 8 minutes to go.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

CUontheslopes - Has anyone noted that Greening has ZERO penalty minutes to date? That's an incredible stat and shows you just how dominant he is. He skates so hard and moves his feet so well that he's always in position. He played a GREAT game last night. Greening has 29 PIM this year ( ). Do you not remember his 5 minute major and game misconduct against Q earlier this year? Other thanby Ronald '09 - Hockey

1-0 Bemidji with around 8 minutes to go in the first. Free audio: EDIT: Still 1-0, end of 1. EDIT: Now 3-3 after Bemidji was down 3-1. 5:04 to go in the third. EDIT: 3-3 after 3. Heading to 5 minute overtime then tie, since it's not a championship game. Could we catch Bemidji ever if they tie? EDIT: Timeout RMU with 1:10 to go and a powerplay for the rest of the game. Re: Other Scores, Friday March 12 - 14 years ago
Trotsky 141:35 is the record. We're at 140:00. That's the men's record. According to Wikipedia anyway, "On March 10, 1996, New Hampshire defeated Providence, 3-2, in an ECAC Women's Championship game after 85:35 of overtime." EDIT: that may be inaccurate - according to their source, (scroll all the way down), there were 5 10-minute overtimes, so that wouldn't add up to their tby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Minnesota 3, CC 0. Final. Northern Michigan 2, Michigan 1, 15:39 to go (on FCS Atlantic). Miami 5, Nebraska-Omaha 2, 12:30 to go (on NHL Network - picking up a non-HD Miami broadcast with really bad video quality). Re: Yale 2 at Cornell 1 (OT) postgame - 14 years ago
imafrshmn Last time we lost an overtime game at home, it was March 9, 2007 vs Q. The glaring weakness of this Cornell team is finishing ability. We had a decent number of high quality chances that were squandered. (Sorry I'm illiterate) What about this overtime game at Lynah? We did miss some opportunities, but all in all, the better team won. Scrivens kept us in it. Good to see hiby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Princeton Viewing 2/6/10 - 14 years ago
shand35 With the heavy snowfall in the area, has anyone heard confirmation that it's game-on? I'm sitting here about 20 miles from Princeton and there is no snow on the street. So I don't think that's really an issue. It is also not currently snowing.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Princeton. Any info? - 14 years ago
I'll be there +1. Bought tickets in 125 because I had heard (I guess erroneously) that they had discontinued the standing room policy. This will be my second time at Baker Rink, the first being my freshman year, when we lost 3-0 on two Darroll Powe goals (Flyers suck!). That was during winter break, and I remember driving back to my parents' house through the snow after the game. We'll probabby Ronald '09 - Hockey

I'm curious as to people's thoughts on Chris Moulson. This was my first time seeing him play, as I was too cheap to pay for the St. Lawrence video and listened to Jason's radio feed the first time he played. And we all know you can't really tell what's going on too well from listening to Jason. From watching him last evening, it seemed to me that he fit in very well. He's only listed as 5'1by Ronald '09 - Hockey
