Re: Signs/Cheers/Chants for North Dakota - 15 years ago
Trotskydjk26The "You love Nazis" cheer should only be used if the NoDak fans get really offensive towards our fans. Even then, I know that it probably shouldn't be used at all. It's probably less effective, since the average fan likely does not know the background of Mr. Engelstad. Right. It would be about the same, in taste and effectiveness, as them coming to Lynah and chanting &by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth Post-game - 15 years ago
Some comments about the game: 1) Keir Ross is a tremendous blue-liner, and may just be our most reliable by the end of the season. He got injured late in the game, does anyone know if it was anything serious? 2) The forecheck looks especially strong and keeps the puck in the offensive zone. For that reason, I was encouraged that we used more dump and chase rather than carrying the puck inby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 at Colgate 1 Post-game Thread - 15 years ago
RichHamerks127Not sure if this was mentioned but Scrivens’ shutout streak lasted 206:44, passing Cropper’s record of 189:45. Yeah, in the game thread. It ranks #2 all-time for ECAC streaks to Colgate's Mark Dekanich's 217:16 set this past February. Scrivens missed that mark by 10:32. ECAC Shutout Streaks 1. 217:16 Dekanich Colgate '07-'08 2. 206:44 Scrivens Cornell '07-'08 &by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Colgate 1 (3rd) - 15 years ago
Its all my fault. I got back from a prelim and put the game on with 19:30 to go and we all know what happened next. Well Ben's 215 minutes from the ECAC record now.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Kevin Boothe - 15 years ago
Josh '99Reviving an old thread: Kevin Boothe is on the 53-man roster for the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. He's listed on the club's Depth Chart as second string at both left tackle and right guard. Right tackle Kareem MacKenzie suffered a concussion in the second quarter, and Boothe came in and finished the game at right tackle. His first play in there, he was responsible fby Ronald '09 - Other Sports

RatushnyFanRyan O'Byrne re-signs with the Canadiens. It's a 3 year deal. No terms yet. Could it be a one way deal? I don't think he would have signed a 3 year two way deal where he could be buried in the organization for pennies. It's 3 years, 2.825 million, 700, 725, 1.4 for each year. Here's a link: WARNING: The link is in French. It doesn't specifically say it's a one-way conby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Game 3's Sunday 3/16 - 16 years ago
RitaLess than 3 minutes left in Q's season. Gopher player injured; they just brought out the stretcher. From the replay just shown, he was by the Gopher bench, sort of facing the bench. Maverick player hit him, helmet when flying off and the player fell to the ice. I was a Maverick escorted off the ice, presumably to the locker room. I only saw the replay and it was hard to tell how mucby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Bad injury in the battle of Minnesota. I'm not sure what happened because the sound is off, but someone on Minnesota's been down for an awfully long time.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - Murray Scores!! - 16 years ago
David Leneveu traded to the rags as part of a deal including Marcel Hossa and Al Montoya per TSN, so I won't be able to root for him anymore. I would assume he'll be playing for the Wolfpack, although maybe he's better than Steve Valiquette. If I'm not mistaken he signed a one year deal before the season right? Is he a UFA or RFA at the end of the year or am I mistaken? Damn someone beatby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: World Juniors - 16 years ago
cbuckserUSA hockey has audiocasts of Team USA's games. Go to www.usahockey.com for those. TSN and RDS will broadcast Team Canada's games on tv and the web. Last year, RDS let people outside of Canada watch the webcasts, until the gold medal game. If you can't watch a direct feed on www.rds.ca, there are backdoor feeds listed on hockeywebcasts.com. Re: Alumni in the Pros - December 2007 - 16 years ago
Josh '99CowbellGuyThe NHL keeps track of an obscene amount of stats. Most of them just don't make it into the average box score. Here's a sample: Ugh, did you have to pick the report from THAT game? Would you have preferred this game? I should would.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - December 2007 - 16 years ago
If I watched that play correctly, I think he got an assist but not a plus. I could've been wrong though, but I think he made a pass, got on the bench, and then the second goal scored.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

O'Byrne got called up by the habs. My source is Team 990 in Montreal. I'm listening online.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: UMass 0 at Cornell 0 (Friday) postgame - 16 years ago
duffs4That was a great game to watch. It seemed like cornell gained confidence as it went on and carried the momentum at the end of the game. I couldn't imagine what it would have sounded like if we scored at the end. Crowd presence was the best it's been all year. One thing I think is worth noting is that this was problably the best reffing job I have ever seen at the college level. Thatby Ronald '09 - Hockey

BeeeejRichHHas NYC ever hosted a Basketball Final Four? Yes, though not since the infamous CCNY victory in 1950. But NYC hosted it (at the Garden, of course) for six years straight in the 1940s. Didn't the Meadowlands host a Final Four maybe 10 years back? I think the only reason there hasn't been one in New York or the metro area since then is because they don't have a venue big enough.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: Cornellians who will see ice time in the NHL in '07 - 16 years ago
Josh '99With Phoenix only having Lenny and Mikael Tellqvist under contract at this point (if I'm not mistaken), I have to imagine he'll get at least a few games. San Jose also seems to only have six defensemen under contract at this point, though still with a fair amount of cap room to work with (Phoenix too for that matter). I don't figure Murray will get any LESS playing time than he did laby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: NCAA Lacrosse Bradley-Terry - 17 years ago
Well the good news for the committee from that is that only one team (Colgate) can have a legitimate argument as far as making the tournament from these rankings. The field includes the top 16 teams minus Colgate plus Providence. Georgetown and Navy have bigger complaints than we do. Georgetown would be a top 4 seed, although they would play Hopkins in the second round anyway. And Navy woulby Ronald '09 - Other Sports

DeltaOne81Ronald '09well we won, but if we want to contend, we're going to need better goaltending While McMonagle has been incredible, this was not one of his best, or even good, days. 11 saves on 26 shots on goal, including 1 on 7 shorts in the third quarter. If McM had saved 50% (which isn't necessarily good itself) in the 2nd & 3rd quarters, it would have been a 3 or 4 goal game late.by Ronald '09 - Other Sports
