Moulson scored his 20th goal in a 4-1 loss to the Whalers tonight. Worth a post because 20 is a milestone.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the pros - January 2010 - 14 years ago
Moulson just "won" a game for the Isles in a shootout. What a dumb way to decide a game. He took it in, faked to the backhand, and beat LaBarbera high stick side.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - December 2009 - 14 years ago
O'Byrne just took a hooking call with 1:02 to go on a Devils powerplay. I'll edit the post after they've killed it or the Devils have scored. And the Habs killed it off unfortunately.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - November 2009 - 14 years ago
sah67 Matt Moulson scores his 11th of the year as the Isles are up 3-1 on Toronto. Do goals against Vesa Toskala still count as NHL goals?by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - November 2009 - 14 years ago
Larry72 Natural Hat Trick by Matt Moulson!!!! 11 goals on the season!! (Edit)Uh oh - spoke too soon. Looks like Matt didn't score that 3rd goal! He will not retain credit for the goal, I don't think. Either way, it wouldn't be a natural hat trick, since there was a Bruin goal in the middle of it.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - November 2009 - 14 years ago
Moulson misses in the fifth round of the shootout. Still going on. Is this the first time a Cornell player has participated in one? Nieuwendyk must have gotten an opportunity or two the first year after the lockout or 15 games he played the next year. On a side note, what a terrible way to decide a game. Glad the ECAC hasn't implemented them yet. EDIT: Just looked it up. Nieuwendyk wasby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Harvard at Cornell postgame - 14 years ago
billhoward Long time since a Cornell team has shown the ability to come back from a deficit in a game that mattered and win - convincingly. A power play that's dangerous. Wish this team was on the ice against Bemidji State last spring. I guess you consider the Princeton game in the ECAC semis a long time ago? We were down two almost a period later than tonight. Weren't we down a goal in the fby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Greening was great, but I personally think Gallagher is the first star of this game. The title post indicates that we scored the 3rd goal 4 times.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - November 2009 - 14 years ago
sah67 Our old friend Yann Danis, in net for the Devils tonight, held Matt Moulson off the scoreboard as the Devils beat the Islanders 2-1. I was at the game last night, and while Matt didn't play poorly, the Devils are so positionally strong on defense, that the Islanders as a whole never really got much going, except for the one play they scored on when former Colgate defenseman Cory Murphy waby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 14 years ago
Ronald '09 I think it would be nice if the window was the proper width for a Blackberry screen. Other than that it loads great on my Tour and looks exactly as it does on the computer. The countdown clock even works without refreshing. Just to clarify, the site looks great on my Tour. The point I was trying to make was, when I zoom in close enough to be able to read the text, I am required toby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: Nieuwendyk, Dryden will have their numbers retired - 14 years ago
TrotskyJeff Hopkins '82ursusminorNot allowing number 13 seems weird to me. I always thought that was simply a superstition thing. But there are a few 13's in the pros now, so time to let that one go, too. Why? A tradition is a tradition. The more unique the better, in fact. As was said, the Yankees' retired numbers are a self-parody, as is the whole "league retired number." Hby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - Where are They - 14 years ago
Tony Romano - Brideport Does he count as an alumnus? We have other guys on the list who didn't graduate so I would say he should be included. Also Ryan Kindret - Kalamazoo Wings (IHL)by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni In The Pros - October 2009 - 14 years ago
Boston traded Kobasew and Lucic is out 4-6 weeks. Don't know if that means Bitz will move up in lines but certainly seems likely.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni In The Pros - October 2009 - 14 years ago
Since no one posted it, Douglas Murray got an assist on the first San Jose goal last night. Considering how rare points are for him, I figured it was worth a post. I noticed the goal was scored by Dan Boyle. Can someone who watched the game tell me whether he is regularly skating with Boyle or if it was in the middle of a line change or the pairings were screwed up after a penalty or somethinby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni In The Pros - September 2009 - 14 years ago
Jacob '06O'Byrne is playing tonight, although the first I've noticed him is just now in an after the whistle scrum so he probably isn't getting too many minutes. Yeah, it's good to be wrong. He just crushed Poni.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Alumni In The Pros - September 2009 - 14 years ago
pfibigerRyan O'Byrne also survived the last round of cuts and will start the year in Montreal. Ray Sawada was one of the last players sent down by Dallas to play for their AHL team. O'Byrne is expected to be the 7th dman on the Habs, so we'll see how much he actually gets to play. Haven't heard much about what Jacques Martin thinks of him.by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Updates - 14 years ago
ebilmesFrom talking to some people last night, here are my estimates for where things were on Friday: Block 1 - 50 Block 2 - 150 Block 3 - ? Block 4 - 800 This puts them on pace for around 100-200 fewer line numbers than last year. In response to imafrshmn, I think lower turnout is due not only to the reasons you mentioned, but probably also the poor economy and the recent success ofby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Moulson playing right wing with Tavares on MSG Plus right now. Yann Danis in net for New Jersey and Colgate's Cory Murphy also in the lineup. Go Devils though.by Ronald '09 - Hockey

oceanst41ftyuvThe Lucic suspension could be a blessing in disguise. He's the loose cannon of the team, and I'm betting that with Montreal behind 0-2 and finally playing one at home, emotions are going to be high. I could see that game ending up with Lucic with a broken hand again. I agree, and of course we get to see Bitz in the lineup. I am hoping upon hope that he finds the back of the nby Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: How about Cornell at Michigan in the Big House? - 15 years ago
That clears up this issue if true. Michigan at Camp Randall. It's past 1 PM, but I'm not sure if the results of the press conference are confirmed. EDIT: Here's the official release:by Ronald '09 - Hockey

RatushnyFanI can't tell if they overlapped within a season but here are my figures for seasons with 3+ Cornellians in the NHL: '86-'87: Hayward, Eliot, Dadswell (3 goalies!) '87-'88: Hayward, Eliot, Dadswell, Nieuwendyk. 4. '88-'89: Hayward, Eliot, Nieuwendyk. 3. '98-'90: Hayward, Eliot, Nieuwendyk. 3. '92-'93: Ratushny, Manderville, D'Alessio, Nieuwendyk, Hayward. 5. Re: Other ECAC Results - 15 years ago
Chris '03Chris '03 For the season the numbers are: 12-6-1 vs. AHA 4-11-2 vs. CCHA 5-3-0 vs. CHA 12-15-0 vs. HEA 4-6-2 vs. WCHA 37-41-5 overall It's worth noting of course that the overall numbers are deceptive because of the disparity in OOC games played. Consider: #1 Cornell: Four games played OOC (3-1) #2 Princeton: Four games played OOC (3-1) #3 Dartmouth: Five (3-2) #4 Yale:by Ronald '09 - Hockey

nr53Don't look now but Romano is scoring above a point per game this year with his new team... ::sigh:: what could have been Well...at least as a Devils fan, I can look forward to the day when he is playing on the wing with Parise and Zajac and putting up similar numbers. Even with the Devils now playing more wide open and in the top third of the league in scoring, while the Rangers play aby Ronald '09 - Hockey

Re: 12/14 training camp update - 15 years ago
sah67Riley is 0-3-3 in 3 training camp exhibition games between the two squads that make up the entire invited list of players for Team Canada. Essentially three rounds of red/white games. The official team roster will be announced on Monday 12/15. Do we want him to make so the program gets more exposure or not make it so he doesn't miss three games?by Ronald '09 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ NoDak, Friday, Nov. 28, 2008: Ithaca - 15 years ago
REDheadFor anyone in Ithaca and those in TWCNY cachement area--they will be airing this game on Channel 244, NHL network, available as part of their "Sports Tier" package--costs $1.95 per month.I sign up every college hockey season and then drop it--it's a great bargain! In Ithaca, the NHL network is also available in HD on channel 804, but I doubt the game will be broadcast in HD. Aby Ronald '09 - Hockey
