5-2 Red, but we've missed about 3 gimmes that defy explanation.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: March Madness - 13 years ago
phillysportsfan Uh oh, Larranaga goes for the money grab at Miami and now Courtney is probably a candidate for the Mason job. He clearly is still interested in the school as he paid his way to see them in the tournament this year. I can only hope Mason doesnt hire him because him leaving after one year would really hurt the program, especially this late in the year If that were to occur, anyby scoop85 - Other Sports

Ben scoop85 Iris win 10-7. MD schooling Hop 7-2 with 4:00 left in the half Hopkins coming back, it's 8-6 at the end of the 3rd. Hopkins goes up 11-9 with 5:42 left. MD goalie responsible for 2 goals on bad clears that Hop put into an empty net.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Ronald '09 St. Johns is up 5-2 on Notre Dame at the half. There is a free webcast on Notre Dame all access at Also, Maryland-Hopkins is on ESPNU at 8. I think depending on the results of these two games, we could be either number 1, 2, or 3 in next week's polls. That's just my guess though. EDIT: Irish tie it at 6 with around 6 to go in the third. Maryland up 2-0 just under 5 minutesby scoop85 - Other Sports

Jim Hyla kingpin248 CHN reports Kinkaid leaving. And Adam throws Schafer's name into the mix for the Penn State job. Some posters on this Forum would be pleased; I wouldn't be one of them.by scoop85 - Hockey

Well, unless a late goaltending recruit is in the works, Iles will need to play the iron man role next season.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard lacrosse - 13 years ago
We were uncharacteristically poor on ground balls, although we held our own on faceoffs. Pannell really looked to be pressing, but Lau played a phenomenal game. Great and gutsy move to replace Fiore when he and the team were struggling. West did a solid job, and the team responded around him. One real problem seems to be with our the ssdm's; Harvard had their way with them. Can't forget tby scoop85 - Other Sports

Man, those Junior league seasons seem to go on forever.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Dartmouth lax - 13 years ago
CAS 4 goals and 5 assists for Rob Pannell. A true pleasure to watch. So the inevitable question for the older timers: where does Pannell rank among the Cornell greats (McEneaney, French, Goldstein)? Of those three I only saw Goldstein, and while my memory is a bit foggy, I see a lot of similarity between those two. Both great feeders, with Pannell perhaps a better goal scorer.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Dartmouth lax - 13 years ago
19-8 final. Solid game overall, as we did not have a huge 2nd half let down. Tesorioro did a fine job with faceoffs, and gives us another solid option. Pannell looked unaffected by the shoulder injury. Much better job by the defense than the second half effort against Penn.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Lax vs. Dartmouth - 13 years ago
2-1 Cornell after one, as Pannell scores on a long shot with 0:01 left. Not a very good quarter, however, as a lot of sloppy play by the Red. Dartmouth looks sound, and it should be a tight one throughout.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Dartmouth lax - 13 years ago
A little let down at the end of the 3rd, and Fiore gives up a few long shots. 14-6 after 3.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Dartmouth lax - 13 years ago
11-3 at the half. Pannell his usual incredible self, middies doing their part, Fiore with some decent saves. Only negative is that when we're getting beaten on FO's, Dartmouth is getting clean fast breaks. Question now is, can we avoid the 2nd half swoon?by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Dartmouth lax - 13 years ago
Ah, I guess we'll use this thread ... now 5-1 Cornell after Lang gets his second, following one by Langton. Great to see the Middies putting up the points. Fiore looks good so far. Hope he keeps it up throughout.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Penn lax - 13 years ago
Whoa, that was tough. Penn played us as physically as I can remember. Good thing we won the FO to start OTby scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Alumni in the Pros_ March 2011 - 13 years ago
Greening scored last night (after lengthy video review). I saw his game against the Rangers on Thursday, and he was excellent, with 5 SOGs. He looks every bit like an NHL regular to me.by scoop85 - Hockey

Jim Hyla scoop85 Al DeFlorio Air Force coach's pre-game wrap-up to his team was priceless: "You aren't going to win this game in the first period. You have to keep yourselves in a position where you can win it in the third." They are playing the kind of game we all would have liked to see Cornell play against Yale. Play conservatively and take no chances that would give Yale traby scoop85 - Hockey

Well, I'm glad Yale won to at least some face for the League. Should be a good game with UMDby scoop85 - Hockey

ugarte Trotsky Union up a man again -- we must be near 20 total "powerplays". FYP UMD blocked an amazing # of shots this game. And that's all she wrote -- 2-0 final.by scoop85 - Hockey

Re: Atlantic City-ECAC hockey attendance fiasco - 13 years ago
Trotsky There were also a lot more pretty girls in AC than Albany or in fact any other ECAC tourney or home site owing to its relative removal from the genetic sinkhole that is the northeast (with an obvious exemption for all Cornell women who are naturally beautiful). Frankly, most of the people I saw in AC seemed like the dregs of societyby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell v. Stony Brook - 13 years ago
17-9 final. What a performance in all phases of the game. Should be interesting Saturday, with Penn's stingy defense heading to Ithaca.by scoop85 - Other Sports

now 15-8 with about 11:00 min left. It would be nice to stop this run now so we don't have to sweat too muchby scoop85 - Other Sports
