Re: Letter to CSTV about ECACHL Tournament Coverage - 19 years ago

The potential for that is pretty severe, and if I were CSTV I'd definitely want to make sure it doesn't happen. Serve both audiences....Talk about hoby abmarks - Hockey

Adam- Thanks for the update. I am sure that the league had to work hard. That doesnt mean that we have to be happy about theresult. Had many people not blistered both the network and the league I'm sure we wouldn't even havegotten the tape-delay changed. But you raise an interesting point. Our beef should be with the NCAA and CSTV. I don't think it will do much good, but what if peopby abmarks - Hockey

That's part of the way home - I say we keep protesting ti get the game live. As said on the other thread, watching the harvard game will be a spoiler. SO will watching the UVM-'Cuse bball. Keep writing.......by abmarks - Hockey

I guess I wasnt paying attention between periods when they brought some ski team people out with a trophy. Figured it was a win. UVM did some cool stuff to whip up the crowd. Re: Refs For This Weekend - 19 years ago
After being at Gutterson for the entire UVM-Dartmouth series I'll say this about Dell. He's fair. Translated that means he completely sucks but his errors even out. Everyone that I sat with agreed he was awful, missing right in the face calls and calling things that weren't penalties as well. Watch out for lots of boarding/charging calls when guys fall over near the boards for whatever reby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Don't watch Syracuse-UVM! - 19 years ago
Al- I forgot about that part when I fired off my missives to the ECACHL. At least I don't care about catching the gate-Harvard game. It would be good to watch, but not a must-see for me. But I really want to watch the Cinderalla story on the hoop...by abmarks - Hockey
Don't watch Syracuse-UVM! - 19 years ago
This just occurred to me: If you are planing on watching the hockey game at 10pm on CSTV, DO NOT watch the Syracuse - UVM basketball game at 7! I think it is a fair guess to say that they would mention the result of the UVM hockey game.... CSTV shows CU at 10pm Fri - 19 years ago
The game is now on CSTV at 10pm on tape delay the same night - a slight improvement. Below is the email response I received from the ECACHL a little while ago after writing a nastygram. Eveybody, lets not stop fighting- send nastygrams to the league and to CSTV all the way up and until game time on Friday. They acknowledge that its the fan dupport that got this done with emails and calls!. Wrby abmarks - Hockey

DeltaOne81 Wrote: Other than concerns about bandwidth, Cornell/the ECACHL is probably happy with the XMI broadcast, plus the local TimeWarner stuff. It'd be great to have it on CSTV, but I bet the schools and leagues have accepted the internet broadcast. Afterall, it is actually much more widely available than CSTV. Write away, but I bet the schools and league have done their part alreadyby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Fans say less doubt on Cornell-Vermont game (USCHO) - 19 years ago
I was at all three of the UVM-Dartmouth games over the weekend and we definitely shouldn't overlook this game. I've only seen 3 or 4 cornell games this year, but Dartmouth struck me as a very similar team to Cornell. They played big, hit hard and played defensively. I think it foreshadows our matchup with UVM. If Dartmouth had any offense or special teams going they would have won the gamesby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Game vs. Vermont televised? - 19 years ago
Anyone know if a bar in say, Boston, can *pick off* the live game feed on friday? It's not being picked up on cable here. Can you hook onto the CSTV feed that is going out over the bird to the cable companies?by abmarks - Hockey

Students had section C up until around 1987 or so. Blame Laing Kennedy and possibly coach McCutcheon for the changeup. At the time the ywere intentionally splitting up the student section for either behavior/language/drinking and the like. You could go back and read old Sun articles with McCutcheon bitching about the language in the stnads and that he wouldn't bring his kids...eerily similar toby abmarks - Hockey
