Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81abmarksWe can go as low as 16! Running 33/22/11 on USCHO, Everything according to seedings, except CU loses 2 and MSU loses 2. Then you get CU #14, Dartmouth and Bemidji autobids below us, making us 16. Well, no, we're 14, we just miss the tourney. So yeah, even being #5, its been proven that there are a few scenarios where we can miss out with two losses and an upset autobid or tby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Albany tickets in the Cornell section - 18 years ago
Or to Beej's point, maybe you've just got bad feet etc. And to somebody's point earlier. There is somethng much more powerful about a generally seated crowd all of a sudden coming to their feet along with a roar for important moments in a game.by abmarks - Hockey

Re: 2005-2006 PWR - playoffs edition! - 18 years ago
I expect clarksons RPI to go up when all is said and done since Opp win % is 50% of the RPI. Right now only Quinny and Bemidji are below Clarkson in RPI and not by much. I didn't try any math, but since everyone left is going to be playing higher RPI teams I'fd think that the RPI of the group would go up over the remaining games. Cross your fingers. We'll know the chances much better tomoby abmarks - Hockey

High stick? When? Puck was knocked in on the ground. Unless moulson tipped seminoffs first shot?by abmarks - Hockey
Re: Video Suggestions - 18 years ago
for future- you should always be able to see where the puck will end up. You should almost always be able to see the width of the ice. And the goal shouldn't be out of any shot moving in to the zone. Only tight zoom ever should be 1 camera on a scrum that isnt moving, with another backup shot showing the width. And no quick pan/ zoom. The less the better - too much of that and its likeby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Cornell v. Clarkson Game 2 - 18 years ago
TUBA- i am watching the 'cast...and they slow-mo'd the replay. clear x-check in the back from 2 feet away from the boards and the guy did a header. No debateby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Cornell v. Clarkson Game 2 - 18 years ago
OB got bad louck though- guy was lined up and turned his back jjust as he got hit. Legit call, but unlucky. If the guy hadn't turned just then it would have been a side hit. But you've still gotta call itby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Cornell v. Clarkson Game 2 - 18 years ago
ok i know its the wrong thread, but the damn camera people frame their shots like fat chicks wear their jeans. TOO DAMN TIGHT!!!!!!!! GRRRRby abmarks - Hockey

Re: Archive of Friday 3/10 game not available? - 18 years ago
better answer than i got. those a-holes have the worst structured custimer service organization I have ever dealt with. I *escalated * the complaint mainly because I want to see tonights archive since i will be out, but the *technical* people don't respond to customers. So I escalated to *management* as well, and was told they'd be back to me eventually, it might be a week. Got to loveby abmarks - Hockey
Re: 2005-2006 PWR - playoffs edition! - 18 years ago
jtwcornell91Ken '70PWR is a pretty good way of sorting teams except that I'd make the tie-breaker H2H, when available, before RPI. It's always better to have an actual result on the ice decide things rather than a mathematical abstraction like RPI or KRACH. AAAARGH! RPI, KRACH, and the arbitrarily chosen criteria of PWR all depend only on the "actual result on the ice". Don't perpeby abmarks - Hockey
Archive of Friday 3/10 game not available? - 18 years ago
ANyoneelse able to get the video of Friday's game to come up in the archive? No luck here...I can get women's bball from the archive or mens hockey audio from last night, but the video isn't working for me. Anyone with similar problem?by abmarks - Hockey
Re: Thursday Night Games - 18 years ago
I was at the BC-UVM game - weakest crowd I have EVER seen, including the emptiest I've seen Sucks rink. Yeah the students were on break, but I don't think they broke 1000 (500 maybe?) and there were a few hundred UVM fans there. Pretty poor showing by whatever qualifies as the BC townie season ticket population. And you'd think that with all the alums in boston they'd have a better showingby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Out of town scores: Playoffs - 18 years ago
Slightly OT, but nowhere else to put it: DU goes up on CC 3-2 with about 130 left in the game. looks like DU gets an even bigger boost vs us in the PWR assuming this holds up. EDIT: I speak too soon. CC ties it 6 on 5 with under a minute left. Final Edit: 3-3 tieby abmarks - Hockey

Re: Lynah Rink Renovation - 18 years ago
Liz '05Maybe it's the box seats that are getting named? I'd be okay with a "Harvard Sucks!" box seat Nope, it's every seat in the rink. go to the website- there's a ninteractive "what's available" section and it's every section of the rink. And for people wondering about replacing everything with seats: wouldn't it make sense to do that in one big campaign now ratherby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Lynah Rink Renovation - 18 years ago
Just watched the video. At about the 12 minute mark they show the architectural plans for those trying to figure out the details. I don't think they are going to be zoomed in well enough to just *read* them, but they explain things pretty well with the voice-over. I'll see if any screen-caps are legible enough to post...by abmarks - Hockey
Re: Lynah Rink Renovation - 18 years ago
anyone see the interactive map where you could see the already named seats? check out section o - someone named a seat "Lets go red" I wonder just how creative you can get with your inscription? How much is the premium for a "Harvard Sucks" inscription?by abmarks - Hockey
