Re: Conference Tournaments / NCAA Bubble - 11 years ago
Rita nyc94 Colorado College beats Minnesota 2-0. As Adam just posted in the pairwise blog, there are a lot of "bid-stealers" this year and BU is doing its best to be one too. Just went up 4-2 on BC, and BU still has 4+ min left on a 5 min pp. BU scores again on a PP, 5-2. Edit: 5-3 now. 3:58 remaining. BC going on the PP. Trotsky WederIf Harvard is indeed skewing its AI numbers to benefit men's basketball, it will be interesting to see which other teams there take the hit. You're going to have to have a sparkling academic record to be on the sailing team. I thought each team (or at least each sport, M + W) had to conform to the AI. So, for instance, you couldn't field a wrestling team of Joe Rockheads and balanby nyc94 - Hockey

Re: Dunbars - 11 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 And the answer is: Dunbar was Pep's dog at the time he bought the bar in 1979. He was a black lab and appeared on older t-shirts wearing a red scarf and sunglasses. I Googled Dunbar's when this thread started just to see if there was any other information. What I did stumble upon is that the business is incorporated as Dunbar's Fenway Tavern West. Any idea what that's about?by nyc94 - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: Wallowing - 11 years ago
Chris '03 KeithK Swampy KeithK Jim Hyla Trotsky Schafer seemed to be concerned about players attempting to *over*-perform: straying outside their roles, taking the law into their own hands, trying to do too much. That's what he meant by "selfishness" -- putting faith in oneself and one's judgment before the team. This was particularly galling (and damaging) when the main offenders werby nyc94 - Hockey

Trotsky That's So Harvard. Losing 4-1 in the third. 4-2 with 5:43 to go on the USCHO score tracker. No idea if that is correct. edit: 5-2, 5:18 remaining edit: 5-3, 2:55 edit: 6-3, 1:46 edit: and that's the final score. Thanks for nothing, Harvard. Enjoy springtime in Cambridge.by nyc94 - Hockey

Re: Wallowing - 11 years ago
Jordan 04 No doubt what the Princeton coaches did was very smart. Great move, that many would not make. It's not like they have to worry about what a loss does to their chances in the Pairwise.by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: 2013 ECAC Playoff Permutations - 11 years ago
marty It was also interesting to see how many other moves were made in PWR last night. Jason Moy had RPI missing the tournament on his analysis. After last night they would be in. Jayson Moy did a quick blog entry after last night's results. RPI is in at #13. In his mid-week blog RPI was out because they were #16 and he was giving the Hockey East autobid to Providence. Re: 2013 ECAC Playoff Permutations - 11 years ago
Jim Hyla We're now tied for 22 in PWR. With a strong showing by getting to AC, I think there is still a chance of an At-Large bid, maybe? I just did a quick sampling of the teams ahead of us and in most cases we lose comparisons by 1 point, losing RPI and Common Opponent and winning TUC. Keep winning and our RPI goes up and we could flip a few comparisons. I still think we need some help fromby nyc94 - Hockey
Re: 2013 ECAC Playoff Permutations - 11 years ago
Give My Regards BMac BearLover Almost everyone has so much to play for...except, you know...Quinnipiac. FYP Maybe not ECAC-wise, but Quinnipiac shouldn't start farting around if they want to hold on to that #1 PWR. Interesting that right now the top spot in the PWR doesn't make any difference for Quinnipiac with respect to first round opponent. Assuming ties are still broken by RPI, the #4by nyc94 - Hockey

CowbellGuy nyc94 Sorry if this has been covered but any idea why the Alerts feature for Favorite Team Goals is not working? I turn it On and hit save and then never receive an alert. When I go back to look at the Alerts & Reminders page the switch has flipped back to Off. iPhone 4S, latest version of the app, latest iOS update. Ben nyc94Mixed Biathlon Relay? Why are you picking on one of the best advances for gender equality in the Olympics, in an extremely physically and mentally taxing sport? Not sure if serious.
