Re: ECAC 2013-14 - 10 years ago
marty nyc94 Union knocks off top ranked St. Cloud 4-1. St. Cloud falls from the top of the Pairwise and is replaced by Providence. And Providence is led by former Union coach Nate Leaman. That is primarily why I found it of interest. That and when was the last time Providence was at the top of anything?by nyc94 - Hockey

Trotsky nyc94I have a feeling we said this last year and it didn't go so well. You can track interconference record here. ECAC is just slightly behind Hockey East in winning percentage. Gotta happen eventually. Boy, Atlantic Hockey is awful. We need to beat NU. Harvard actually helping by beating UNH 6-3.by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2013-14 - 10 years ago
ajh258 It's still early and there might be changes to the calculations that might affect how this is going to pan out, but ECAC has had 5 teams in the top 16 for a few weeks already. If the conference could hold it together through the holiday weeks and not lose too many NC games, we might see 5 ECAC teams in the playoffs, which I'd guess would be the first time in a very long time. Swampy In related news, UNO swept #8 Miami over the weekend. Since we swept them during the first weekend of our season, UNO has gone 6-2, with wins over Denver, #8 Miami, #15 North Dakota, and #5 Michigan -- the two losses were to North Dakota & Michigan. Next weekend's opponent, currently unranked BU got a win & tie over those #15 Nodak characters. Possible future opponent Maine, crusheby nyc94 - Hockey
Re: Football finale Cornell at Penn - C35-21 Q4 - 10 years ago
TimV Hey! Where is everybody? We got a two touchdown lead on Penn with only 10:22 left in the game. Come back! I have watched enough Cornell sports to know no lead is safe.by nyc94 - Other Sports

billhoward ugarte Rita mountainred And a 19 point lead in the second half to Bingo..before losing by 10. It's a very young team. The youngersters have some promise, but this is going to be a long a season. It was a long night in Louisville with Cornell losing 99-54 to the Cardinals. Re: 2015-18 Frozen Four Bids - 10 years ago
billhoward nyc94 Josh '99 We've covered this before - between the Rangers, the Knicks, college basketball, the circus, and concerts, MSG has a packed spring calendar. As far as I'm aware there's never been any indication that MSG has any interest in hosting; Adam, am I mistaken? My recollection was that MSG actually floated the idea of a Frozen Four bid around five years ago. And with the Frozby nyc94 - Hockey

Re: 2015-18 Frozen Four Bids - 10 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 Do they still have the circus at MSG that time of year? They were not at MSG this year because of the renovations. The circus was at the Barclays Center March 20 - April 1. The 2014 schedule on the Ringling Bros. website also does not have an MSG appearance. Barclays (Feb. 20 - Mar. 1), Uniondale, Newark, and E. Rutherford are on the schedule.by nyc94 - Hockey

RichH Here's a list of bids I've heard of: Frozen Four City (Hosts): Kansas City (UNO) Buffalo (MAAC, Canisius, Niagara, Buffalo Sabres, Visit Buffalo-Niagara) Cleveland (?) Orlando (Quinnipiac & MAAC) Tampa (Wisconsin) Milwaukee (Wisconsin) Boston (My drunk friend Sully) St. Paul (?) Detroit (?) Brooklyn - Barclays Center (?) Re: ECAC back to Lake Placid 2014 - 10 years ago
scoop85 Interesting, as the consolation game has seemed to be a make or break game for NCAA tourney chances for one of the participants many times in recent years (as with Cornell in 2012) I ran one of those DIY Pairwise scripts back in 2012 and at the time was pretty sure Cornell would have made the NCAA field if there had not been a consolation game.by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: Cornell beating Bucknell in football - 10 years ago
Al DeFlorio Strange game. Time of possession: 40 minutes for Bucknell, 20 minutes for Cornell. Key stat was 6 turnovers for Bucknell, 0 for Cornell. Yale crunched Colgate today. Next week's a reality check. I didn't watch the game but I just looked at the box score and it seems similar to past problems. Cornell had 17 total net rushing yards while giving up 230. Nine penalties for 70 yarby nyc94 - Other Sports

They were too busy figuring out basic math: New York Times Correction: August 1, 2013 An earlier version of this article misstated Dick Kazmaier’s age. He was 82, not 83. The error was repeated in the headline. An earlier version of this article also misstated the number of years he was married to his wife, Patricia. They were married 60 years, not 50.by nyc94 - John Spencer Is Dead

RichH Jim Hyla RIT Coach Wilson talks about where to play post-season and non-conference games. “Without Atlantic Hockey, there wouldn’t be a 16-team tournament. That’s where the growth is coming from.” Read more: I very much agree with all of Wilson's points, especially in getting programs like Michigan and BC to travel.
