Robb BearLover Rita KeithK BearLover Trotsky I don't see anybody in the current landscape who fits, and I see the job as Mike's until he decides to retire. He's about 50, so that's not going to be for a long time. His contract expires in 2016. At which time it will most likely be renewed. I think there is zero chance that he would be forced out if the team continues to have seasons like the lasby nyc94 - Hockey

JDeafv nyc94 Not sure where else to put this: There is a "New Topic" option. Didn't seem worthy of an entire thread. Or I can start a broader topic "Things I Would Never Have Thought Possible In My Lifetime, Hockey".by nyc94 - Hockey

Not sure where else to put this: USCHO Union is looking to become the first back-to-back-to-back Whitelaw Cup-winner since Boston University won it four times in a row, between 1974-77.by nyc94 - Hockey

I saw the thread title and thought someone died in this latest fire. Ithaca Journal says no injuries.by nyc94 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Conference Playoffs: Non-conference rooting interests - 10 years ago
I think if Cornell sweeps and BC sweeps Notre Dame we can move ahead of Notre Dame. Same if Maine were to sweep Providence - it does significant damage to Providence's chances and while it improves Maine's they shouldn't be a threat to us.by nyc94 - Hockey

Checking the boxes here is what I came up with for 1996 (Ivy only): Skazyk: 7 GP, 5-0-1, 361:46, 16 G, 2.65 GAA Elliott: 5 GP, 4-0-0, 248:40, 12 G, 2.89 GAA So Skazyk played about 60$ of the Ivy mby nyc94 - Hockey

Re: Bracketology - 10 years ago
Trotsky Right now on CHN we are 13, one ten-thousandth of a point above UVM. Minnesota-Duluth beats Nebraska-Omaha so we're back to 14. Would still get BC in Worcester either way.by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology - 10 years ago
If Vermont beats UMass tonight they should move ahead of us (ignoring others results) dropping us to 14. If they lose they are probably done for the year as the Hockey East first round is single elimination.by nyc94 - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 ugarte Trotsky ugarte Looks like losing to Dartmouth destroyed our RPI. Down to 14 in Pairwise.CHN has us at 12. maybe late returns moved us back up EDIT: yep, USCHO has us at 12 also We do not want to fall down to the four-band. That's a sure trip out west assuming BC stays #1. This sort of thing is why I pay attention to the Pairwise before the end of the season. Edit:by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth @ Cornell 2/28/14 - 10 years ago
releck97 Hopefully, the unfinished business with Eric Neiley will be swift and not result in any majors... From CHN article: "Dartmouth's Eric Neiley took a shot at Cornell's Bardreau. Neiley was ultimately suspended for it, but Cornell is looking for its own form of punishment. "It will be a physical hockey game, I guarantee it," Schafer said. Jeff Hopkins '82 nyc94 Dafatone ugarte Trotsky Back to 9th in PWR after the Q win. And beating Princeton drops us into a 3-way tie for 11th. Never go to New Jersey. I thought RPI didn't drop if you beat a bad team. Did the other teams around us win, or am I misunderstanding that mechanic? Northeastern beat Maine and North Dakota beat Duluth to raise their RPI above ours. And Q losing to Coby nyc94 - Hockey

Trotsky nyc94 Harvard beat Dartmouth last night so now one point clinches a shared title and two guarantees it outright.A Princeton win or tie Friday against Brown gives us a share of the title. We could clinch the outright title without playing another game if in addition to Princeton beating Brown, next Friday (2/21) Harvard fails to beat Yale and Dartmouth fails to beat Brown, or Princeton tiby nyc94 - Hockey
Re: 2013-2014 Basketball - over at BC - 10 years ago
mountainred scoop85 ugarte billhoward Boston College and Steve Donahue made #2 on the ESPN highlights playing a day later at Georgia Tech (snow). BC goes up 71-70 with :03 to play, Donahue calls time out to settle his team (Tech has none), lets Tech score a long trey to win. BC falls to 6-18. Wow. Re: Bracketology - 10 years ago
adamw FYI - it's been a few weeks now that our Pairwise has correctly incorporated all of the new weightings/bonus for this year. And this is the only one that is written by your friend and mine, John Whelan - so have at it. Probably best not to play with the customized Pairwise. Just switching the Dartmouth game from Tie to Win makes Cornell the four seed.by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology - 10 years ago
Wisconsin's win moved them up to 11 in Pairwise and in a perfect bracket they would get us in the first round. And BC is the top seed now.by nyc94 - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 10 years ago
Jim Hyla CHN's article: Another Lost Year at Beanpot for Harvard. Donato has distant memories of the last time the Crimson won the tournament; he was a player. That doesn't sound right. Harvard last won in 1993. Donato graduated in 1991. He was on their 1989 team that won the Beanpot.by nyc94 - Hockey
