Re: TBRW Award: Leadership and Passion - 11 years ago
Lol@Bardreau winning despite missing 75% of the season and one captain not even on the list. Says a lot about this year's leadership.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: TBRW Award: Most Respected Opponent - 11 years ago
I have no respect for anyone on Yale or Q and hope they both lose 10-0 next round.by BearLover - Hockey

Why does Willcox not have 100% of the votes?by BearLover - Hockey
Re: TBRW Award: Career Improvement - 11 years ago
Gotovets? 0 points and missed half the season? Why is he an option? Mihalek should have won last year maybe, but he didn't seem to improve between last year and this year. Axell...eh, I guess? No great options this year.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament - 11 years ago
Scersk '97 BearLover Nonetheless, it's official: Yale is better than Cornell at hockey right now. I don't mean this current team, I mean the entire current program. They've now been doing this for an extended period of time, despite losing players to graduation, with a great system that Cornell can't ever beat. So... "extended period of time" = 6 years? Troll, or too young to underby BearLover - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament - 11 years ago
Not sure why people here want Yale to keep winning. It doesn't actually do Cornell any bit of good because the rankings are computerized, and I don't want Cornell to no longer be the team that has gotten the farthest in the NCAA tourney in recent memory. Nonetheless, it's official: Yale is better than Cornell at hockey right now. I don't mean this current team, I mean the entire current prby BearLover - Hockey
Re: Should He Stay or Should He Go - 11 years ago
Absolutely ridiculous overreaction to my last post. And it's not the disagreement that bothers me; it's the trite smartass "no one can possibly be this dumb, he must be a troll" comments that twelve-year-olds go around posting on the internet. I never said at any point I wouldn't follow the team if they were bad. I said I wouldn't follow them as much, and I wouldn't commit as mucby BearLover - Hockey
Re: Should He Stay or Should He Go - 11 years ago
Jim Hyla BearLover I am more disappointed in this year's season than almost anybody on this forum. I would rather watch exciting offensive hockey than defensive hockey. I think think Cornell has been slipping these last few seasons. I feel entitled to an NCAA tournament berth every year, or close (and with Cornell's history and fan base and the amount of time I invest following the program, Iby BearLover - Hockey

Re: Thank You - 11 years ago
I would also guess no one leaves after this season. Lowry is also a possibility, though. The year after next I'd be surprised if 100% of the drafted players are back.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Thank You - 11 years ago
cbuckser BearLover Meh, their season was similar in that it was disappointing, but whereas Cornell was either good or very bad for long stretches, Michigan was consistently mediocre the entire season, before making a bigger push than Cornell at the end. It's a good article, but really, Cornell got outshot in the Q series like 150-50 and lost some of its best players to graduation, so no, I'm notby BearLover - Hockey

Re: Who do you want to win in AC? - 11 years ago
I'm late, but I'm extremely bitter about this season so I wanted to minimize the number of ECAC teams making it...oh well.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Post Season Awards - 11 years ago
This season was a disaster, especially from a fan perspective. Just when they suck you back in, they suffer the most devastating loss in recent memory. I'm not proud of how anyone on the team performed except for Miller, Iles, and a few others. This was supposed to be the year...what a waste.by BearLover - Hockey

Re: We can't possibly win - 11 years ago
i hate to admit it, but cornell got terribly lucky. they aren't going to win one of the next two if they keep playing like this. still...whoever said cornell has no chance does not understand the randomness of hockeyby BearLover - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
Gotovets didn't play Saturday again. Anyone know the word? Mowrey looks like he'll be back. When's the last time Cornell beat the #1 team in the country?by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
Cornell outnumbers Q with 8 drafted players to 3. There should be little, if any, talent advantage for Q. Let's see if the boys can pull it together.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Wallowing - 11 years ago
css228 Jim Hyla css228 Jim Hyla css228 Well it was a nice rebound while it lasted. Wow, you don't have any faith, do you? It's just when you start irrationally believing when the strongest stomach punches come. But, saying what you did implies that it's over, that we have no hope. I disagree, I have some hope. I'm not irrationally believing, just some hope. I wouldn't do more than bet a drinkby BearLover - Hockey
Re: 2010 ECAC Championship Game vs. Union - 11 years ago
marty Patrick Kennedy and Celebration Anyone else notice that Greg Miller, who would go on to lead the Red in points and +/- the next three seasons, is one of the players in the celebration who didn't dress for the game? That is both a testament to how far he has come and to how incredibly talented the 09-10 team was. Easily one of the best Cornell teams in recent memory.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Wallowing - 11 years ago
RichH Trotsky css228Yes, but I think we can all agree that for a team this talented, a bottom four finish was flat out unacceptable. Not much changes if they finish 8th as opposed to 9th, but still I don't really think its entitlement if you're disappointed when your team has a losing season, with a 500ish record at home. If you're okay with that, you're actively supporting mediocrity. Varianceby BearLover - Hockey

Ben I believe I just heard Topher Scott call the team "a national title contender" on WHCU. What title does he expect them to contend for? Most Spectacular Underachievement? Should be a great rematch between Cornell and Michigan in the finals.by BearLover - Hockey

TimV Any place there's a list of players' schools? How many go to our aggie school Nearly all of them. You can check the Cornell roster.by BearLover - Hockey
