Being compared to the Yankees is gag-inducing, even given the sentiment.

OTOH, "ogre-like Cornell defenders" has a nice ring, much like "hordes from the North."

Don't know how it is for hockey, but many of the lax players are in the Ag school because that's where the Dyson undergraduate business school happens to be.BearLover

Well for the first time having a college with admissions standards closer to Penn St than Penn has actually helped Cornell in a rankings haha

Why do you say the admission standards are that much lower in the Ag school? Might be, but I don't know the stats. I know around here, Syracuse, the kids feel it's hard to get in. Many try because of the reduced tuition.

I have no intent to get in to a pissing match over colleges and admissions
The team has a large number of players in CALS, but you cant really tell what majors they are in, and someone mentioned there are a bunch of programs there that are top notch (Dyson being one of them)
The only college not represented as far as I can tell is Architecture, Art and Planning (there are ~3 players that dont have a college listed in their roster bio)
The biggest advantage for Cornell from what I can tell, is that for a NY resident they can offer a lower tuition, and by sheer size they have more slots available
(Cornell has around 14K undergrads and Brown has 6K). so while people can bitch about 100-200 points on the SAT all they want, I would lean towards the raw size of the student body as being a much bigger benefit. Penn is the only other school over 10K undergrads, with most of the Ivy Leage in the 5-6K range

There are 10 players on the men's hockey roster [4 who are from NY] and 12 men's lacrosse players [9 who are from NY] in the Dyson School which is ranked in the top five in the country. Less than 10% of those applying for admission to Dyson last fall got in so that is an impressive statistic.

I think that they replaced the simple pass/fail system with a more equitable 9 point scale.

What's with the distracting '90s background on the blog? It predates Yann Denis. Only worse if it was a repeating Brown Brown Brown background.toddlose
