Re: PU @ CU - 11 years ago
Trotsky dbilmes Jim Hyla You are assuming that there won't be any upsets in the preliminary games. Even if we stay at 11, if both Harvard and us win through the playoffs, then Harvard ends up playing Q, as they will be the lowest seed. Not that I wouldn't be happy being 7, but do the best we can and hope there are other upsets. I haven't looked this up to verify it, but I can't recall a yearby kingpin248 - Hockey

Re: Cornell "Suicide School" NPR Story - 11 years ago
ugarte Kyle Rose I'll throw it out there that I'd rather have the beautiful views from the bridges than save two lives a year: those views enrich the lives of tens of thousands each year. Of course, what would be even better would be to have both: figure out some other way to identify potentially suicidal people before they get to the point of wanting to jump off a bridge. Aaron M. Griffin Robb We also lost a play-in game in 1998 and won a play-in game in 2000, so those are two of the "missing" games. Not sure about the other 2-4-0 record, though - was there ever a regular season tournament held there? kingpin248 The Big Red's record in the 1993-2002 ECAC championships in Lake Placid is actually 7-5. Re: Generic Off Season Thread - 11 years ago
Aaron M. Griffin The athletic website article references the following in its recent comments about the move to Lake Placid: The Big Red holds an 11-9 all-time record at Herb Brooks Olympic Arena... Leaving out the fact that it was not "Herb Brooks Arena" until 2005 when the ECAC was no longer a tenant, what other games account for the alleged 11-9-0 record? The Arena hosted the 19by kingpin248 - Hockey

billhoward Winner of next Saturday's Cornell at Princeton game (7 pm) hosts the tournament, no other possibilities per Cornell or the standings (below): Cornell must win to share Ivy title else it's Princeton's. Either way, no Cornell-Princeton first-round matchup in the Ivy tournament. Ivy standings going into final week 1. Princeton .... 5-0 2. Cornell ...... 4-1 3. jtn27 Why isn't the goalie award named after Ken Dryden? From the 2006 awards, the first year in which they were hyphenated: Trotsky This season marks a hyphenation of these awards, initially named after the members of the mid 80's Team of Destiny that captured the 1986 ECAC title and came within an eyelash of the (as yet to be christened) Frozen Four. Re: Cornell-Ferris State In Progress - 12 years ago
Aaron M. Griffin Beeeej Aaron M. Griffin I am still curious if the Ivy League does have an expansion protocol. Most athletic conferences do. I am curious if from the creation in 1954, the group was viewed as a hermetic group. I am curious what the voting procedure would be if there is one. css228 nyc94 jtn27 Beeeej With 1:18 left in the first, Michigan State has a puck in the net, but after a long video review, the refs declare that the net had conclusively already been dislodged. No goal. Union caught a break there. I thought that was a goal. The net was barely dislodged, maybe an inch off the ice. I thought they might call high stick on the shot. Re: Michigan already assuming victoy over Cornell - 12 years ago
css228 3) Unrelated to the actual preview, but isn't CHN's suggestion to use KRACH to replace the RPI criteria of the PWR, not PWR altogether? To me that makes more sense then when blogs like this talk about replacing PWR with KRACH, because they aren't attempting to measure the same thing, while RPI and KRACH do. CHN's position is that the PWR should be simply replaced with KRACH: CHN's KRACby kingpin248 - Hockey

billhoward The highest attendance was: Albany with Cornell and Harvard in the final (2003, 2005, 2006), followed by Albany with Cornell and Union in the final (2010). Re: Cornell Alumni in the Pros: March 2012 - Moulson 3/8 vs Devils - 12 years ago
Trotsky Josh '99A vexing trend. Moulson has 20 points in 19 career games vs. the Rangers, his most against any team.Where by "vexing" you mean "making it even more enjoyable."
