calgARI '07Dpperk29the best seats are in the top rows... in a rink as small as lynah, the higher the better, especially with the angle of the seats, you are so close even when you are seated in the top row. In four years in B, I've been towards the top, towards the bottom and in the middle. Far and away the best place to sit in terms of experience and atmosphere is smack dab in the middle. #1 BC lost to Notre Dame (a team tied with Union in the votes receieved category in the current poll) 7-1 at home tonight. Yikes. The game featured 87 PIMs. That will show them for complaining about us playing the ND fight song at them back in '03. Or maybe not... In other news CCT lost at home to Lake State and the Q put up a ten spot on their canadian exhibition opponent.by Chris '03 - Hockey

Re: Sea of Red/White Out? - 17 years ago
kroseJacob '06It is always rewarding when the opposing team starts shooting pucks right at the glass in front of you during warmups. One Harvard player "missed" the top of the glass and almost hit me with a puck back in 1997 or so. I retrieved the puck and have it sitting on top of my computer at work as a trophy. jmh30CowbellGuyAlso, there are a bunch of 8pm Saturday games this year. If you really can't make it for the 7pm start warmups, you should have no excuses for the 8pm games. If they were going to make some games start at 8, why not have those be the Friday games, when people are coming after work/class/travelling to Ithaca/whatever else? Re: Sea of Red/White Out? - 17 years ago
redhair34Last year there were probably less than 20 people in the entire student section before every game when the teams first came out onto the ice. How cool would a loud and sustained LGR chant be during warmups? Plus the 51 in the band presumably. It was amusing to be in the band on road trips and see the home teams startle when they hear Davy at the start of warmups when their band isby Chris '03 - Hockey

Jacob '06Guess I am heading back home for thanksgiving next year. Whats everyones bet on the ticket price for the first 5 rows, and what the total attendance will be? Pure guesswork... Prime seating: $30 Over/under on attendance: 5,000by Chris '03 - Hockey

nyc94Chris '03nyc94So, who watched 60 Minutes tonight? Who didn't think it was incredibly one-sided? From a strictly legal standpoint this thing is incredibly one-sided. I can't believe they got an indictment with that lineup procedure and should those guys get convicted in Durham they'll win their appeal. I agree completely. The whole thing reeks of a DA doing anything to get elected agby Chris '03 - Other Sports

Al DeFlorioChris '03Madden and Michaels are talking about how Boothe broke his nose last week and had to go to the hospital during the game. He started tonight, but is currently out with blood coming out of his nose... That's a bad break. I thought he was looking pretty good tonight, although the team is pretty awful. Re: Message from the Ticket Office - 17 years ago
Liz '05 The rein/reign distiction drives me nuts when I see it misused, especially when it should've been caught by the newspaper editor. I saw this in a graphic on a major news network just yesterday: "...U.N. attempts to reign in North Korea" So they are trying to rule NK... or are they tring to rein them in?by Chris '03 - Hockey

The goofs picked up where the left off... a goal 21 seconds in helps Maine win 3-1. Miami opened the new building in style beating Denver 5-2. CCT beat Niagara 7-3 The Q is getting dominated 6-1 by the UND Disputed Nicknames Of course Colgate put up a stinker 6-0 against UVM. I know it's beyond early, but they really need a win tomorrow against Denver to help the ECAC. EDIT: Union comeby Chris '03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Harvard @ Bright on sale October 4, 2006 @ 10AM EST - 17 years ago
Section 9 is actually a pretty good place to watch the game. Despite the netting, the sight lines are very good. There was one uptight parent with child who almost exploded arguing with some CU fans and security about language, but at least no one took him seriously. There's also the bonus of watching the H Band antics ("Hey Cornell, three points is a field goal, two points is a safety... saby Chris '03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Harvard @ Bright on sale October 4, 2006 @ 10AM EST - 17 years ago
Just got through. They let me pick a section but things were getting a little tight. I used the 617 number though I don't think it matters. Also, out of curiosity, anyone calling from area code 607 get through? I know a few years ago they ignored calls from 607 (to the frustration of the hockey office!). Also, as for bitching about the H ticket office, I suggest people lay off. Sure it sucksby Chris '03 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio Watching football in Harvard Stadium is "Best-Access," much superior to "Some-Access" or "No-Access," or whatever it really is these days. Ancient stadium, but built for football with great sightlines. There's no doubt it's the best in the league to watch a game.by Chris '03 - Other Sports

Re: Reminder - Hockey Ticket Preregistration - 17 years ago
I was going to note something about this on the Hocky (sic) Ticket thread, but this seems like a better place now. The ticket distribution system this year seems like a giant compromise where every different idea got a little piece of the pie. If I'm not mistaken it includes (at least) the following elements: - Online Preregistration - Lottery numbers - some priority for seniors (without reby Chris '03 - Hockey
