Re: Quinnipiac roll call - 17 years ago
billhowardHow big is the pending Quinnipiac rink? Cornell had foresight to build a rink in the 1950s that must have seemed monstrous at the time. Which one? The Northford Ice Pavillion, site of the Cornell game this year, is something like 1500. The new building is set to be fourth(?) largest in the ECAC at about 3900.by Chris '03 - Hockey
Re: Lay off Andy Noel? - 17 years ago
Bill, I gather you have never spoken to this man or seen how he interacts with students and alumni? Several rambling points (in no particular order) on Andy Noel the athletic director from hell: 1. I don't give him credit for bringing in Jim Knowles to coach football. Knowls interviewed Cornell. He's an alumnus who wanted to come back. Not too many coaches beg to go SEC ---> Ivy League.by Chris '03 - Other Sports
Re: Quinnipiac roll call - 17 years ago
dsr11Yes, it's all GA at this rink. My brother goes to Quinnipiac. There won't be many QU students at this game, they have to be off campus for Thanksgiving break at some point on Saturday during the day. So if we get a good CU turnout, we should be able to make this a home game ! Btw, my brother also told me that hockey games rarely sell out, so I'm guessing tickets are still available thrby Chris '03 - Hockey

Noel's take on Fish - 17 years ago
From today's Sun: “Sportsmanship is a lost art in many respects and I’m not ready to give it up,” Noel said. “I’m somebody that respects tradition a lot, but I don’t respect tradition that is insulting to our visitors.” Noel affirmed that come this Friday night, the administration will continue its policy of removing students caught throwing fish from Lynah. Re: CSTV - call to complain last year, sue 'em this year? - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91 I'd say suck it up, pay for the month, and watch a few Goofers games on Fox Sports North, but that's me. (Actully, the danger there may be that you get hooked on having ~5 different college hockey games on every weekend and keep the Sports Pack.) There are worse things to get hooked on.by Chris '03 - Hockey
Re: 2007 recruit: Patrick Kennedy - 17 years ago
pfibiger Now that we've landed Patrick Kennedy, we just need to get Brendon Nash's brother Riley, and then we'll have 4 sets of doubled jerseyes (Nash, Kennedy, Devin, Davenport). Isn't there another Moulson in the pipeline somewhere too?by Chris '03 - Hockey

CowbellGuyMama T's is pure crap, but C-Town Pizza isn't bad, if you're into the really greasy NYC style pizza thing. This site says it's among the best in the world! It can't be wrong! Count me among those with no credibility if you must, but there's a place in Philly that makes a fantastic ravioli pizza. I also enjoyed the pasta pizza at wendy's pizza. BeeeejYes, hence why we are listed as 2-0-0. Whether the RIT game counts for NCAA tournament selection purposes is an open question. I'm not certain it does but I haven't seen anything definitive on the issue.by Chris '03 - Hockey

Re: Weekend Not Yet a Sellout - 17 years ago
Ben Rocky 04I think bhangra kicks serious ass, and they preform at a lot of events off campus, and out of NYS even, that put our school's name in the limelight. ...? That's interesting because when I was dealing with the SAFC they were reluctant to fund the band for anything that occurred off campus. The line was always that the money had to go to something the whole community could enjoy andby Chris '03 - Hockey

Sprint Football Undefeated - 17 years ago
Congratulations to Coach Cullen and the sprint football team. They beat Army for the first time in forever last night to win their sixth CSFL title and complete their first perfect season since 1982 (third overall). Not too long ago it was good just to get a win or two against Penn or Princeton because the academies were just too good. Last night's 26-7 win at West Point is really a big deal.by Chris '03 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell 4 Robert Morris 1 - record attendance - 17 years ago
billhowardA-19the rink looked kinda empty on the webcast. what did people at the game think? You must be mistaken, as was I watching on the Webcast. Attendance was a Cornell all-time record, 4004,according to Cornell's ministry of sports information. You can look it up in the official box score: Thursday night games against nobody opponents are dumb. At any rate, 4226 > 4004:by Chris '03 - Hockey
Re: Real Names or User Names? - 17 years ago
I've always been of the opinion that real names foster a more civil dialogue. I'm pretty sure the majority of users here used real names before one of the updates to the forum swapped user names with real names.by Chris '03 - Hockey
