phillysportsfan A center committed today, Deion Giddens, seems a little undersized at 195 but if he bulks up like Foote did, went from 225 to 265 in 3 years here, its sounds like he has a lot of upside It was a typo and is now corrected.by CornellFan - Other Sports

Re: Cornell in Top 35 in Both BBall Polls - 14 years ago
ugarte YankeeLobo If we run the table, getting a #10 seed is a very likely outcome. I wouldn't hope for any seed higher than that because if we win the 8 vs. 9 game, in all likelihood we play the #1 seed in the 2nd round. I'll still take the better shot at a first round win since the 2 seed we likely face if we win a 10-7 game is probably to rough us up. Princeton got a 5 seed and beat 12 seedby CornellFan - Other Sports

They finished No. 8 and played a 7 man rotation. Very little depth, tons of talent in the top 5.by CornellFan - Other Sports
Re: Cornell in Top 35 in Both BBall Polls - 14 years ago
Trotsky CornellFanWhy not? Cornell did it 07-08 with a younger and less talented roster. Cornell just has to take one game at a time. And should Cornell slip up once and finish 13-1 in the Ivy and 27-4 overall... still a good case would be made for Top 25 consideration. If it's difficult to imagine Cornell running up a 14-0 record, it's no easier to imagine another Ivy squad doing it. Enjoyby CornellFan - Other Sports

Jim Hyla CornellFan Cornell is 15-3... with 2 of its losses coming ON THE ROAD to a pair of teams in the RPI top 5 (Kansas and Syracuse).... Of those two losses, Cornell gave BOTH Syracuse and Kansas (in their gyms) one of their toughest 2-3 games of the season (numerous quotes from Self and Boeheim say Cornell was among their best 2-3 opponents). Cornell does not get credit just for closeby CornellFan - Other Sports

Re: Cornell Basketball 2010-2011 - 14 years ago
YankeeLobo With the departures of Wittman, Foote, Dale, Jaques, Reeves, Tyler, etc., does anyone have an outlook for what the team will look like next year, where we will be projected to finish in the league? It would be nice to build off this 3-year run and make ourselves the new Penn/Princeton of 90s/early 00's, but I understand that's a difficult thing to do in the Ivy League. French RageCornellFan The problem with Amaker and Harvard are some of the behind the scenes stuff they have done (like trying to unprofessionally poach one of our recruits while he was visiting our campus). Unfortunately, much of this stuff is not for public consumption and is kept with closed circles. But even if you are not keyed in to the insider stuff... there is plenty out there for youby CornellFan - Other Sports

Steve would definitely jump for the right situation and he should do what is best for his family. Our site would support him. And can't blame Amaker for bolting cambridge asap either. Re: Cornell Hoops to the Garden - 14 years ago
Columbia may have the most apathetic alums in the Ivy League, not to mention, their basketball team is terrible. I think our alum base could draw at least a couple thousand more for the Garden.by CornellFan - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Hoops to the Garden - 14 years ago
All of the Cornell students will be back on LI and Jersey for the holidays. Exams will be over in Ithaca. Also, with all the Cornell and St. John's alums in the NYC area, not to mention Hofstra, this event could potentially draw 10,000+ (if Cornell Athletics markets it enough). Granted this not Cornell-BU hockey (which may itself struggle to sell as many tix as 2 years ago), but I'd tend toby CornellFan - Other Sports

Errick Peck-Basketball Recruit - 14 years ago
I apologize in advance, but over on The Cornell Basketball Blog, we've posted about two dozen links to articles in the last week covering Cornell basketball recruit, Errick Peck. For those who don't know, Peck was voted MVP last night of the Indiana-Kentucky All Star Game. Playing in a game with Kentucky, Indiana, NC State, Georgetown, and Purdue recruits, it was Peck who outshined them allby CornellFan - Other Sports
