Rita David Harding billhoward Story says 5,500 square feet of retail space. That's 7-Eleven size. A traditional supermarket is about 30,000 square feet, a big Wegman's 50,000-100,000. What's the closest place for decent food-shopping now?It depends on your definition of decent, of course. For some, only Wegmans counts. Re: Hockey Stinks (in an olfactory sense) - 12 years ago
I have the same experience as Kyle and RatushnyFan (minus the kids!). Actually, I do even less: I hang everything up on a few plastic crates such that it's exposed to the room, and that's about it. The room has a ceiling fan that seems to get enough circulation to dry everything out pretty quickly. I'll wash my pads about once a year, and the clothes about once a month.by ftyuv - Hockey
Re: Worst Tiebreakers Ever - 12 years ago
marty billhoward This isn't one of these posts to see if people here are gullible? You know, like the Congressman who mistook The Onion story for real? Re: Worst Tiebreakers Ever - 12 years ago
Give My Regards Don't worry, the ECAC(H) still rules the roost when it comes to most convoluted tie-breaking system, even with the addition of league wins this year. However, there's a new contender for the title in Atlantic Hockey, and they're moving up fast. Since it may come up soon, what are the tiebreakers for the Worst Tiebreakers Ever rankings?by ftyuv - Hockey

tl;dr on most of this, but it's always bothered me when people write "NCAA" as "NC$$." Firstly, I find that sort of name-calling puerile and distracting from any substantive argument that may also be there; but more importantly, "$" is the substitution for "S", not "A." I keep reading it in my head as "N-C-S-S." Where does the "$&quby ftyuv - Hockey

CowbellGuy ftyuv CowbellGuy Roy 82 But how many goals and assists that you have is clearly a function of who is on the ice with you. Ryan Vesce scored his NHL goals when he was on a line with Joe Thornton, not when he was the fourth line center. I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I actually do find +/- useful -- you just have to take it with a grain of salt. I mean, we all agree that scoring goals is good, and we all agree that not letting the other guys score is good, right? And I think we all intuit that there are forwards who are bad at defense, and forwards who play a two-way game. So yes, you have to make sure to do an applby ftyuv - Hockey

Re: Alumni In the Pros: January 2012 - 12 years ago
KeithK ftyuv I think that's part of the heart of the question -- was this event a stage that had been granted to him? Or was it a stage granted to his team, which he then usurped? He's a member of the team. And by granted I really mean given his moment of fame when the general public is aware of his statements, not that he was granted a White House visit. RichH ftyuv Long story short, it's fun when you can root for an athlete as a person as well as for his skills, and Timmy's taken that away from me. Whatever, I always liked Bergy a bit more, anyway. KeithK CAS In the late '70's, the Palms was a rare place in Collegetown which attracted both students and some townies. Had quite a streak going there in my senior year. Looks pretty much the same today as it did over 30 years ago. It needs to be saved. Maybe Elynah can start a fundraising campaign...
