Re: Alumi in the Pros - October 2013 - 10 years ago
Unless the Isles have some sort of inside track on re-signing Vanek, it's a pretty aggressive move to give up the picks. If Moulson really likes playing for the Islanders, he can finish out the year, prove he can score some goals on a weak club, and go back to the Islanders. It's a nice move by the Islanders if they end up with both of them long term, otherwise......... EDIT - Islandersby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Canucks reportedly interested in Douglas Murray Douglas Murray Update "The Canucks reportedly have interest in free agent Douglas Murray, who would provide a physical boost. Murray's agent told the Province he's had talks with the Canucks “off and on” throughout the summer, though they're currently not close to a deal. Re: New Recruit - Corey Hoffman - 10 years ago
My point is where is the 160 points? He was less than a point a game player as a midget AAA forward. You can throw out the NY high school hockey numbers as they don't mean much. The USA Select Festival is also not very relevant as it's an all-star camp - high scoring games, players have different incentives (not to mention that 7 of his 10 points were in a single game). I'd focus on his numbeby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: New Recruit - Corey Hoffman - 10 years ago
Interesting that he left Long Island to go play for Belle Tire. Slightly better competition than the AYHL. He did not light the world on fire at Belle Tire with 5 goals and 12 assists in 22 games. Hoffman Belle Tire Stats These are not the offensive numbers that one normally sees from a good D1 prospect. Maybe he's a strong 2-way player and a great skater that they see fitting in the systeby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: 2013-14 Schedule - 10 years ago
Based on the timing of the NHL games at Yankee stadium (January 26th-29th) is there a possibility that the Cornell/Yale game on January 31st could be played at Yankee Stadium? Just speculation on my part.......I know that this was discussed and generally dismissed a while back.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: 2013-14 Schedule - 10 years ago
dwakelin The Niagara game was a no brainer to expect. Now my focus is Snapper's post regarding a Colgate game at Yankee Stadium. Is there actually merit to this rumor or just on a wish list?My son's hockey coach knows a member of the coaching staff. I believe that this is still being considered. They discussed it last week at Cornell hockey camp. I don't know anything further but it would be aby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: New Rules? - 10 years ago
Michigan actually has a pretty tough non-conference schedule.....they're also playing UNH (2 games) and Nebraska-Omaha (2) on the road. Of course they're playing BC, BU, UMass-Lowell. Michigan Tech (2), Niagara and Ferris State at home. 7 at home, 5 on the road, it's not so egregious this year. Michigan 2013-14 Scheduleby RatushnyFan - Hockey

He usually goes to Lynah for the boys hockey camps. My kids have met his son and Joe signs autographs at Lynah typically. Super nice guy. Dustin Brown should be buying the beer this summer though with that contract......by RatushnyFan - Hockey

George64Men’s Hockey: Ken Dryden, Doug Ferguson, Bruce Pattison, Dan Lodboa, Doug Murray, Lance Nethery, Joe Nieuwendyk, Dan Ratushny. Nice call on Ratushny..........a lot of people who watched him closely knew that he was a controlling presence when he wasn't in the box. How about Brock Tredway? He had four dominant years - isn't he Cornell's leading all-time scorer? Three of the four seasoby RatushnyFan - Other Sports
Re: Alumni in the Pros Summer 2013 - 10 years ago
Bernier played 25 games in 2010-11, 16 games in 2011-12 and 14 games in 2012-13. Unless Quick gets hurt I'd guess that Scrivens gets 17-20 starts or so. Their top AHL goalie (Martin Jones) has played for 3 seasons in the AHL without an NHL call-up.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Men's Hockey Roster Additions for 2013-14 - 10 years ago
Rauter separated his shoulder and had surgery. He will turn 21 after his freshman season if he comes the season after next. He only has 27 junior games under his belt so probably needs some seasoning. I hope he makes it, my kids play for the same youth organization that he played for.
