Re: NCAA Ticket Info - Manchester seating Cornell Sec 122 - 7 years ago
RichH billhoward The NCAA and ECAC always seem to put the four schools in the corners and save blue line to blue line for others. Cornell is in Section 122. This is a seating chart for Dancing on Ice which seemed closer than the tennis or boxing or stage concert seating charts. If you wanted seats between the blue lines, it'd be 102 (closest to 122), 103 (center ice), 104. Seating capacity foby abmarks - Hockey
Re: NCAA Ticket Info - 7 years ago
Greenberg '97 wakester2468 Couldn't agree more. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if the NCAA is responsible for this. A full lower level with cameras focused on it creates a much better image. Look how they screwed Harvard. Nothing about them should ever be unexpected. Re: NCAA Ticket Info - 7 years ago
wakester2468 FYI. Here is a little information that some might find helpful and disappointing. Being a lifelong resident of Manchester and knowing the arena well.(It's no longer Verizon Wireless Arena,it's now SNHU Arena.} after just coming back from the ticket office, this is what I have found. First, they are not even selling the upper bowl which is half of the seats. Obviously says somethingby abmarks - Hockey

THat CU Box office price is really good. I bought tix in 121 from ticketmaster sunday afternoon an they are $45 per session plus $10.65 in service fees (grand total of $111.30 for saturday and sunday vs. $84 from CU even with the fees. At least I guessed well on the sectionsby abmarks - Hockey

Dafatone Is keeping us out of Harvard's region a goal of theirs? Looks like they've done a decent job of distributing conferences across regions (UMD and NoDak in the same region is the only exception, I think). That doesn't make sense to me- the guidelines only worry about intra-conference in the first game. Manchester has two HE teams (Notre Dame and UML, for example.)by abmarks - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2016-17 Style - 7 years ago
Looking at the final brackets from the NCAA they went almost entirely for bracket integrity. The only swap outside bracket integrity was flipping CU and AirForce, which puts us in Manch and AFA in Providence. So instead of 5-12 and 6-11 matchups it's going to be 5-11 and 6-12. WOnder why they did that- does moving us to Manch from Providence really make that much attendance difference? Cinciby abmarks - Hockey

Re: attendance - 7 years ago
RichH andyw2100 scoop85 I'm sure this has been answered before, but why did they switch the ends of the ice where we shoot twice? It would seem logical that the team should shoot twice at the end where the most fans are concentrated rather than at the scoreboard end. I believe the official reason for switching ends was given as being so that the players could be facing the scoreboard for twoby abmarks - Hockey

Re: Bracketology 2016-17 Style - 7 years ago
How about the simplest explanation- we could just have had a number of PWR comparisons that were razor close? THat matrix uses krach to simulate game results but ultimately fills out the PWR- so the issue is more likely in the PWR than the karch numbers. Looking at the probability matrix, I think you need to look at the probabilities of landing in any given PWR final position. I'm curiousby abmarks - Hockey

billhoward CU2007 There is indeed a boxcast channel for Roku - I added it last night. I wasn't able to find the game by searching "Cornell", "ECAC", etc. but I'm hoping it appears tonight. Seems BoxCast mostly just broadcasts those bizzare super-church services with the jumbotrons and the hooterin and hollerin. Added Box Channel to Roku a half hour before Friday faceoff. Dafatone As someone pointed out at some point, our great win% kinda works against us, in that a loss hurts our win% more than a win helps it, due to the math and how fractions work and whatnot. This, if nothing else, is why we want a strong ECAC. 10th in the pairwise with a lower win% (.600 or so) gives us more room to grow and more ability to weather a loss than 10th in the pairwise with a rby abmarks - Hockey
